Everything.. Norwegian BLISS! - launch April 2018 -

Recommended Posts

Yay, FreestyleNovice! I've been waiting for this thread.

We are booked on the Bliss for the inaugural Seattle to Alaska cruise on June 2, 2018. Cannot wait! This will be our first time on a mega size ship and also our first time on a brand new ship. We splurged a little extra for an aft balcony cabin. Only 436 days to go! ;)

Go Seahawks! We are booked on the Bliss in September, so excited. Lots of cool info came out yesterday. What kind of balcony room did you get? We are on level 15. You ever done the Haven on NCL?

Awesome pics! I'm so excited!-We arein a Spa Minisuite on the Bliss-It seems like the Fitness Center is right above us-Will that be a noise problem for us? Anywone ever have a cabin on another NCL ship underneath the Fitness Center? The ship looks beautiful!!!!

Thanks!

We booked a spa mini suite as well, and it looks those are under the slide (staterooms 15800-15814) or pool deck by the kid's aqua park (staterooms 15200-15214). It is the spa balconies (staterooms 15242-15258) that appear to be under the fitness center and salon (staterooms 15842-15858).

"...and an expansive casino featuring hundreds of slot machines and table games to suit the likes of novice and pro gamblers alike. In a first for Norwegian, the casino will now offer a smoking and a non-smoking casino to cater to all guest preferences."

So is this a partitioned-off casino smoking section?

That would free up the entire 6-7-8 common corridors to be smoke-free, eliminating one of the most common gripes for the BA and BA+ ships.

Noticed Coco's is in the Deck 6 LeBistro spot of Getaway/Escape. On Bliss, LeBistro got moved to where the Arcade is on the sister ships, which eliminates the smoke problem for French dining, too. Perhaps moving up to Deck 17 could even give us some outside dining options (or make the sidewalk café seating a more appealing option with fresh air).

Q Texas Smokehouse...

We are pretty excited about this Deck 6 option replacing Supper Club/Illusionarium. We enjoyed the dinner shows in those Escape/Getaway venues (respectively), but once you've eaten the set menu and seen the shows once, we didn't want to pay for the same thing a second time. But, Q Texas BBQ will offer different experiences each time because of the live country music, and menu options. Yay!

I love how they have tucked the lifeboats under the waterfront deck. It cost them some cabins on deck 7 to do it. But it just makes the ship look so much better than the Escape. Now I need to book a cruise on this ship!

Deck 7 never had cabins on Breakaway, Getaway, Joy and Escape. ;)

From what I've been told my a friend at NCL is that they are no longer allowed to have new builds with the boats off the side like that. Not sure if this is a change with USCG policy or NCL themselves.

I have no clue but ship's have more "wide load" structures like cantilevered hot tubs, bridge wings, water slides and rope course slings and planks so it's not from a hazard or collision perspective I think. Extended lifeboats are pretty secure in their davits and at least not less than normal lifeboats. As the ship will do frequent Panama canal crossings she might be easier to navigate in the locks, think mooring, without any lower wide load sticking out and blocking the view from the bridge?

Bugger, I was looking forward to the Texas BBQ until I read 'Live Country Music'.... 🤦*♀️

The thought of a yeehaw jamboree while trying to enjoy a meal sounds terrible... [emoji86][emoji86][emoji86] reminds me of those god-awful bears at Disney...

Let's hope they offer a take out service...

I didn't even realize they sold Godiva on NCL. To be honest, I don't go into the gift shops, so that's probably why I missed them. (And Godiva is one of my favorites). Oh well. :D Maybe one day I'll see Zoe's and try them out.

Hi Tina,

They don't specifically sell the Godiva chocolates, but they are part of the past guest perquisites, at some level. Even if only platinum (sorry, too lazy to look it up) that's still quite a few cabins fleet-wide. It would still be a big win for Zoe's if they get a contract.

Apparently Godiva is big in China? The Joy has a retail area dedicated to Godiva, and it possibly replaced the bake shop?

Possibly a one-off for that market, or maybe there's a new relationship in the works?

When I saw Coco's my first thought was "really??!?!?!"......guess I just don't link cruising with chocolates! But I never really understood the need for the Bake Shoppes either.

Can laser tag be easily played during daylight? It looks like the maze is uncovered. Also, do you shoot targets on the walls? I don't see the players wearing any targets/receivers.

Hm good observation! Anyone with some actual Joy laser tag pics? It might be the PR clip that's missing the vest to me.

Maybe the sensor is in whatever is surrounding the muzzle of the laser gun in the video?0d3250621aa61c0c4a980d53ba5a26f1.jpg

I know the picture doesn't give a view of where the cabanas are on the sister ships, but we hope they are available on Bliss.

There are no cabanas in Vibe on Escape. I would doubt they will be there on Bliss. We like Vibe much better without those in the way of the forward view and taking up so much space.

Ha! I guess I should have looked at that first! It appears there is an outside walkway on the other ships on deck 7? I am not on the Escape until October 14th so I will find out then. :)

Hehe, yup on 7 is the lifeboat entry deck. From the muster stations emergency exits open to this walkway. On Bliss it will be smaller but quite similar in look and feel. The forward part of deck 7 is open (no lifeboats blocking the view) and with the wake of the bow it's one of the best, if not the best, spots to connect with the ocean when sailing.

Hi Back Stephen,

And thank you for the reply. I haven't looked it up either (too much multitasking [emoji846]), but I'm

at the Gold level, so if it is platinum and above, that's the reason why I haven't seen Godiva in my cabin. But yes, if the contract with Zoe's did follow-thru as we saw on the show, that'll be quite a boom for a small business. Thanks again. Much appreciated!

Tina
