Recomendations for Bermuda cruise with a 1 year old?

Hello - we are considering doing a 7 night Bermuda cruise in June out of NY/NJ, trying to decide between Celebrity Summit and Norwegian Breakaway? My understanding is that Celebrity tends to cater to a more older crowd and Norwegian would be a bit more family friendly - Any thoughts or suggestions?

During the day, you are likely to be IN BERMUDA...not on the ship! Neither have anything for 1 year olds....no clubs, I mean. They may allow "toy-sharing" for the cabin, and they might have some "parent/toddler" time in one of the play rooms.

I don't think it will really matter to a 1 year old which ship you sail. Pick the best price/cabin/itinerary for YOU!

We've taken the Summit to Bermuda a couple of times. In the summer there are a lot of families with children on board and there is popular and well attended children's program on board. However, a 1 yr old is not old enough to participate in that, so in that respect I don't think it makes a big difference as to which ship you take. Also, as you'll actually be in Bermuda longer than you'll be sailing to/from Bermuda on shore activities will dominate. We've sailed on NCL before, though not on the Breakaway to Bermuda but we find "X" to be head and shoulders above NCL. I'd go on the Summit....with a 1 yr old or not!

Thanks guys, I should of noted in my original post that I understand neither ship will have activities for a one year old, but I guess a ship that has more families would be more accepting of the things that come with someone who is traveling with a baby. We are looking at early June, which I guess is technically the summer, but I think most kids are still in school. Appreciate the feedback though!

I have been on both ships and both ships are wonderful. Yes, there are more children on the Breakaway, but I don't think it matters. The baby is only 1 and will not remember anything anyway. I think you should do what makes you happy and what you would like.

Summit: Much better food and service. If you are concerned about the baby disturbing dinner, I would choose the "early" dining. (6:30?) as opposed to late dining. (8:30 ?). Early dining is when there are most children.

Breakaway: Many more eateries and venues with children all over the place at all times. The pool is very small on the Breakaway.

Depending on what you are looking for...If you want a relaxing, A+ service, go with the Summit. If you want lively....go with the Breakaway.
