Got the discount on the first week and they allowed us to use it the second week with a little help from a manager [emoji4]

Nice one!

Wow i wish i had all those cruises booked bea and that discount is amazing [emoji6]

Yeah ... the way prices are going, we'll be cutting back on the number of cruises we've been doing. We've done 4 a year for the last couple of years or so; only 2 this year as the April one was on Splendida in YC for 4 weeks to Japan, so ate up most of the budget (still recovering LOL). We have 4 booked for next year, including Armonia in Jan from Miami, taking in Cuba and a 31 night Divina Caribbean and repo back to Europe which we're cancelling as the first 11 nights are a Vegan charter.

No plans, as yet, for 2020. Maybe Grandiosa? You never know - that could tickle your fancy seeing as you like new ships - we could yet do the same sailing on her. ;)

Fostelo - Welcome back and glad to hear you had a wonderful cruise. I recall it was a long wait for you but yet you kept us informed with photo updates with Seaside and then Seaview. Many thanks. Glad you got a great discount and they should have given you more as you and a few here on the MSC board kept things interesting.

Malta is also on my bucket list of places to go visit one of these days. After watching a series of House Hunters International with Valletta, Malta, we said hmmm, may be that's were we should move when we retire :)

We disembarked from the MSC Seaview last weekend and we had an amazing cruise on the Yacht Club. As Bea mentioned, we loved the ship. We sailed in YC the MSC Meraviglia on the maiden voyage last year and although the YC there was great the MSC Seaview wins in the total experience. There is a fundemental design difference between the Meraviglia Class and the Seaside Class. The Seaside class is much more focused on outdoor areas as they are designed to sail in warm climates while the Meraviglia Class is the ship for all seasons. In addition the Meraviglia didn't feel like MSC interior wise in my opinion. The atmosphere was simply not there. The Promenade inside the Meraviglia was very nice but it's not MSC as we are used too. On the MSC Seaside you can tell that MSC have used a lot on interiors and attention to details and art onboard is amazing. The atrium stretching over 4 decks connected with swarowsky stairs is stunning. With the Seaside Class I would say that MSC place themselves in the very top among the cruiselines out there. It's an amazing ship and a 7 night cruise is not enough to experience all they have to offer. I'm very glad that we are booked for another cruise on the Seaview next year.

Hi NC ... I agree with you re Meraviglia not 'feeling' like an MSC experience - we felt that too. However, we loved the layout of YC. How did you find the YC area on Seaview? (with apologies to Martin for 'stretching' the topic).

The layout was great. On the Meraviglia the YC was spread out on more decks, on the Seaview MSC have gone back to the original layout from the Fantasiaclass, cabins on two decks and the One Pool Deck on the Top deck.

On the Seaview the YC is on deck 16, 18 and 19. The most spectacular layout is open deck solution forward on deck 16 and 18 with the restaurant on deck 18 and the Top Sail Lounge below on deck 16. The venues are connected with swarowsky staircases. In addition there is a outdoor seating and smoking area in front of the lounge with amazing views. This design will now be introduced on the next ships in the Meraviglia Class, the first one is the Bellissima. The One Pool Deck is also very nice, it's divided in two parts. The main part consist of a pool and the bar with the grill and buffet. Going forward there is a very nice seating area on both sides, one for smokers. And in the front there are two whirlpools and sun loungers. One the Meraviglia there was only one whirlpool for the whole YC. So all in all a great layout.
