YTD twice in one night?

This is great to hear. I have a 14 year old son, and we have early dining. I wonder if he could return (particularly on lobster night)? We could see a show and come back for dessert (I would happily eat dessert a couple of hours after dinner, rather than right after).

Sorry to hijack your thread, but does anyone have speculation on whether that might work?

If you have set dining time, you can't do YTD. They would probably suggest the Lido if you were attempting to check in for YTD with a Early Time on your S&S card.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask about the coming very late when you miss assigned seating is that I think I have seen it done on Princess. If you asked if it was ok, you were directed to the buffet. However, if you just went to the anytime desk at 9 or later, they seated anyone. The maitre'd worked one section till closing and seated anyone who came, his take was the food and staff were there until the dining room closed so why not. And after 9 that section did not even stay half full. So you would only know that if you experienced it. We had anytime dining and were just witnesses :).

We generally have one meal in the Steakhouse per cruise. I usually ask the MDR staff if and when they are serving my favorite dessert, the Bitter n Blanc. On a few cruises the times conflicted, but the MDR staff told us we could come to the MDR for the bitter n blanc after the Steakhouse. (I know that bitter n blanc can be hit or miss on the American menu).

I hadn't taken them up on the offer, as I am way too sated after the Steakhouse meal to even consider eating until my Cheerios breakfast the following morning. I do eat two tiny lobster tails on elegant night, but otherwise I stopped eating like a gavone after my 10th cruise or so.

On my last cruise, with YTD, dinner was running really late and we had a show we wanted to watch. We asked if we could come back for dessert and coffee after the show and they said that was fine. And we did. No problems, although we did ask in advance.

Instead of going back for dessert after seeing an early show, we just take dessert with us and put it in our cabin to have with a nightcap.

Glad some folks realize that exclamation points are used in sentences to show emotion.

Four in Five Sentences is alot emotion. Sorry to have caused that much excitement.

Dessert with hot coffee is nice so I can see why folks come back for that later.

I did check the "official" policy on Carnival's website, it says that if you have assigned you can not reserve anytime, it also says if you have anytime you can't reserve anytime. So it probably is up to the head waiter if you can walk up. I guess it's one of things that may be random.

Dinner takes long enough the first time to go back for a second round. Would take up too much of my night! I usually eat dinner around 6 in MDR. Hit pizza around midnight and sometime room service at 3am after casino closes [emoji15]

LOL alot of people admitted to going back for dessert & coffee in that discussion on John Heald's FB page. Or Heald as the obnoxious Gregg who posed the Question to him lol.

Yeah I saw that! Glad to know I'm not the only one who goes twice in one night. I prefer my desert to be shrimp cocktail [emoji7]
