hopeless holiday booker Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Can't find anything on this room which looks oversized on the floor plan. Only comment I can find is from 2014 room 6000 which states that the staff disco started at 12 midnight from the floor below so they had to move!!! I have already booked but wondered if there was any up-to-date information.
Rare Essiesmom Posted May 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2017 These are pictures of 6000. Can't comment on the noise as I was around the corner and down the corridor in 6030.
cocobakerchica Posted May 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I've sailed in 6001 for an 8 day repo cruise, and while I was worried about noise from the theater bleeding through the floor, I had no issues with that at all(I had late seating dinner, and deliberately sat in the room during the first show to test this). Those are great rooms, with a bit more space than a traditional OV and the view was fantastic. The only drawback was the hike to the MDR and Oceanview Cafe, and the occasional slamming of the close by crew door, but my DM liked how much easier it was to get upstairs to the T-Pool since we were so forward and close to that elevator. hopeless holiday booker Posted May 2, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Thank you for the pictures and the comments - feel happier now. We need the walk to get to the food so that's not a problem!
philpcruiser Posted May 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Great view of the bow/ helipad!
hopeless holiday booker Posted May 7, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Yes but won't be great if the crew are partying outside our window - or walking around my room with no clothes on - don't want to traumatise the staff!
cocobakerchica Posted May 7, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Yes but won't be great if the crew are partying outside our window - or walking around my room with no clothes on - don't want to traumatise the staff! LOL, the helipad is directly below(you definitely won't miss not being invited to a sailaway down there because you'll have your own spectacular sailaway views at all times) and yes, the window is pretty big, bigger than the standard Oceanview, and I'm sure they have that tint on them too. The only shock I got was the ship parked nose to nose with us (the NCL Breakaway)when we were docked at Kings Wharf, Bermuda and jumped I out of bed and threw open the curtains to drink in my favorite port at 6:30am :o:'). I'm pretty sure no one saw anything, but I made sure the blackout drapes were tightly shut in the mornings and while changing! Still worth it for the extra bit of space though:D
hopeless holiday booker Posted May 7, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Thank you. I'll try and remember to close those curtains! Maybe I should start a thread - 'What the Steward saw that they shouldn't have'!
hopeless holiday booker Posted May 8, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted May 8, 2017 If you had the opportunity of getting a guaranteed balcony at a small extra cost would you swop it? I know it's always personal choice but thinking about extra room and knowing where you are against balcony and who knows where!
