First Time Celebrity Elite

The Elite cocktail hour may be held in the Sky Observation Lounge; but depending on other activities or groups that may need to use the Sky and on the number of Elite on board, many time there is NO one location for the Elite cocktail hour and coupons are given to the Elites for use in regular bars instead.

How many drinks are included, and are you allowed to leave the lounge with a drink in hand?

Please reply to missyiris03@gmail.com

thank you

I hope that is not your real email address -- it isn't a good idea to publish it in this kind of open forum.

The Elite cocktail hour benefit is 3 drinks per night when there are paper coupons or when the coupons are loaded onto your SeaPass card, or unlimited when there is a specific venue like the sky lounge. You are requested not to remove drinks from the event.

I've used an email address in my signature for nearly 10 years. It's one I created just for use on this forum and I receive very little spam or have other bothersome issues with it.

Even if there are paper coupons provided, there is usually a gathering in the forward lounge at the top of the ship. You're just not limited to that venue. And, when coupons are used, you can easily stop at a bar on your way to the dining room to grab a glass of wine, as long as it's before 7:00 p.m. However, when the event is limited to the one lounge, you must finish your beverage there.

First Celebrity cruise.

Could you please provide more detail about Elite breakfast and drinks? For example, do they still provide the freshly squeeze orange juice?

RCCL has the Diamond lounge and if it is not broken, D members can make a cup of speciality coffee any time of the day from the special coffee machine. You can also request a free cup of speciality coffee at MDR and buffet during breakfast period.

If we want a hot breakfast and a cup of free speciality coffee where do Elites go? Can we "take out" a cup of speciality coffee from the Elite breakfast ?

If you want a hot breakfast there are options for room service or you can hit the buffet or whatever dining room you're assigned. The Elite breakfast is a pastry/fruit and perhaps some salmon for a bagel deal served in Tuscan Grill on the ships I've been on. I'm not a coffee drinker, but the available tea is the ship's basic and on the couple of occasions i've dropped in (I'll take breakfast in bed over "elite" anything most any day!) I've only seen regular brewed coffee served. Elite Plus scores espressos "tea forte" brand tea etc in cafe al bacio.

We have one ship excursion booked. With Elite status can we get priority tendering even if it's not a ship excursion? Thank you all for your wisdom! SO excited for our next trip!

Yes, you will get priority tendering. You will receive information on the ship about where to go. Usually you meet the Captain's Club hostess (on my recent cruises it was near the theatre but they will tell you) and she will have you escorted to the tender. Sometimes she will have you wait until there is a small group - maybe 4 or 6 - but it will still be faster than waiting in line.

Depending on the cruise if there are a large number of Elite and above there will not be priority tendering. I have experienced twice. On another cruise we needed to wait for ship tours to go

If you have mostly cruised RCL, the biggest difference is that Celebrity does not have the equivalent of the Diamond Lounge on their ships. The Elite cocktail event nightly is similar but is more limited in drinks offered and appetizers offered. Most people on Celebrity have drink packages as part of their fare (unlike RCL) so the Elite free cocktails are not much of an incentive anymore but still a nice touch.

We've only cruise Celebrity once. We have two more long ones booked however. We had the drink package but we still enjoyed the Elite event due to the social aspect of it (rather than the "free drinks" which mean nothing if you have the package). The elite event will have people that have cruised multiple times and really enjoy cruising. Therefore, you already have something in common with all of them. We will continue to attend for that reason only. Agreed, the drinks and appetizers are not an incentive.

If you want a cappuccino they have that at the Elite breakfast but there's no hot food there.

So there is no place for a Elite to get a hot breakfast and a specialty coffee.

There is no take-out from the Elite breakfast.

Thank you for the responses. The speciality coffee is the only Diamond benefit I can enjoy as I cannot drink Alcohol. I have to wait till my next RCCL cruise.
