Getting from Port to Rome by Train

Help! At the end of our cruise in Civitavicchia I want to take a train to Rome Termini. All my research says that trains run twice an hour, but when I go on the specific schedules, I can only find trains that leave around 1:30 PM. I know there have to be earlier trains, but I can't seem to get any confirmation on that. Any advice?

Use the trenitalia site. Make sure your settings are for starting at 8am. I see trains about every 15 or 20 minutes, differing travel times based on the type of train.

You probably aren't updating the date (I suggest choosing the next full day) and the time (choose whatever time would be the earliest you'd want to catch the train). The trenitalia system will give you options starting from that time and continuing for the next several hours.

 

Edited to add: You can't see the regional train schedules very far in advance (because they will only let you purchase a ticket within a certain time close to your planned travel). That's why I recommend just picking a random date in the near future. The regional schedules don't vary much.

Thank you SO, SO much cruisemom42 and CruiserBruce! I am looking for mid June and I think you are right that it is too far in the future. When I check for a date two weeks from now I see all kinds of options. I really appreciate the feedback. What a wonderful forum this is!
