Gem... Is there 24 hour munchies available?

Recommended Posts

O sheehans and room service are the only 24 hour options

There are 'snack' hours at the buffet outside of meal times though. We found the set breakfast, lunch, and dinner times at the main buffet to be restrictive- but there were 2 small buffets open for afternoon and late snacks. Plus one morning I was up very early and while breakfast wasn't open yet they had coffee and pastries available.

Just returned last Saturday from the Gem's first 7 days Bahamas itinerary for this Spring ...buffet has late night hours (dinner thru 9:30 or 10 PM, we don't eat upstairs for supper) with smaller selections of burgers, dogs, fries, sandwiches, and hot entrees, along with desserts & soup - till 11 or 11:30 PM.

O'Sheehan's is open 24/7 into the morning hour, where it switched into breakfast mode - has soup, sandwiches (hot & cold), chicken wings, and salad ... ice cream, cake and pound cake. All complimentary on deck 8, Midship.

Pizza, baked to order, is only available from Room Service with a convenience charge of $7.95 for it, along with anything you wished - off the RS Menu.

These Gem Dailies from Day 1 - are as updated as we get here on ... Casino snacks are for players next to the bar, available from 11 PM for a limited time. CC. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2493296

Besides, there are fresh fruits in the buffet all day - just help DIY and you can keep them chilled inside your own mini-refrigerator.

On our recent Alaska cruise on the Pearl, there were late-night snacks served at the small buffet area at the Great Outdoors. But as others have said, you can't go wrong with O'Sheehans. Love that place! During the day, it's fun to get a seat near the railing overlooking the Atrium. Sometimes there's neat things on the huge screen, music groups playing, fun people watching. Or you can try to get a window seat to see out to the ocean or scenery.

The great outdoors was closed.

After 11 pm O'Sheehans becomes the main option. We were on the Gem two weeks ago and there was food in the Great Outdoors, which closed promptly at 11. The good news is that between the morning and 11pm there always seems to be something, someplace.

Main problem with O'sheehans is you cannot take the food away.

My husband is diabetic so he needs a small carb snack before bed so I will try and store small snacks in our minfridge for night time.

We always grab some fruit and pastries from the breakfast buffet as well as some cheese and crackers from the evening buffet. Not diabetic but prefer to snack throughout the day and this works perfectly.
