Tall-Cruiser Posted August 2, 2020 #326 Share Posted August 2, 2020 So is the basketball court and surf simulator now on deck 16? Plus the area of deck 16 aft under the loft area seems to be now open according to those photos. It's a total change in the Windjammer for sure.

Now as for the playground concepts... we have an update. 🤔 Loyal To Royal managed to contact 100architects, and... Biker19 Posted August 2, 2020 #328 Share Posted August 2, 2020 ^ still not sure what that means but the mods here are usually pretty good at pulling stuff that's not supposed to be posted. The CC mods can't pull all those same renderings from the RC blog.

I said this a while ago but once we saw the GT and passenger counts increase substantially for Icon class as well as the one comment from Nick Weir about having designers for the Icon class on board to see the Aquashow that the Icon class is just a redesign of the Oasis class much as the Freedom class was a redesign of the Voyageur class. This is just one more piece that confirms my suspicions. Edited August 2, 2020 by Ourusualbeach

Although if you are right, I would have expected more of a change then what we know so far.
Tough as Leather Posted August 2, 2020 #331 Share Posted August 2, 2020 Assuming that we're seeing a Wonder of the Seas concept and I know it's just a rendering, but am I seeing a slanted wall above the shorter windows at the end? By the way, this is where the ship name usually is located, but from an earlier post that we've seen, the name is shifted lower down to right at the lower lip.

That slant /angle is possible. And yes the ship name is on that lower piece of wall, at the bottom of the 'bridge'. That wall is further back under the overhang* that you see at the top of right hand photo. * which I think I'll dare to call 'the aft part of the Windjammer' overhang 😳 Ugh. I'm a visual person. I see a drawing coming on my behalf. 😜

To top it (if that is part of the intent), they have to build on its successes and elevate it to the next lWow evel.

There's three walls of windows facing down into the Boardwalk (as seen in drawing below). There may be a 4th wall of windows below the railing near Tidal Bar, but not sure. An idea of what the Windjammer is like at the aft end. 98.7% certain. As for the other end, I don't know how far forward it goes (under the loft suite area). 🙄 Edited August 2, 2020 by Lloyd555

Good idea to be able to transit from one side to the other at this end as well like in other Windjammers. 👍 So did you get artsy and show off the overhang chage, etc. ? Yes, but my drawing skills are lacking. Not able to show good perspective and what not. Anyhow, I had fun with it, using an old Oasis promotion image to boot! And besides it's raining here in Ottawa, so I couldn't go for my run or do yard work. This was a good alternative. 😁

You can almost make out the slant in the border between deck 15 and 16 above the (wrong) ship name. 😂 This stuff reminds me of early ship builds we followed. You're still mad as a hatter. Tall-Cruiser Posted August 2, 2020 #338 Share Posted August 2, 2020 Great work Lloyd. I would guess that this windjammer could/should be bigger and more open than the other sister ships. Putting into consideration the whole idea of social distancing they may have had to make some adjustments/changes to Wonder.

Unlike on the other ships it will be wind proof as partof this Oasis Ship to be consiered as a cold weather ship and will be some kind of glass construction and likely colorfull. The artist impressions suggest it emits light. I’m thinking the facade at the back maybe a liquid crystal screen.when not active would be clear.
