AF-1 Posted May 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Thanks for the article. I have never been on Carnival. They seem to be the biggest line around
SadieN Posted May 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Shocked to see Long Beach is Carnival's second busiest home port. Wonder what criteria they used- number of ships, number of pax, days of embark?

damiross Posted May 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Shocked to see Long Beach is Carnival's second busiest home port. Doesn't really surprise me. While looking at cruises out of LA in March 2018 I saw that Carnival had 5 cruises a week between Long Beach and Ensenada.

Wonder what criteria they used- number of ships, number of pax, days of embark? It was by the number of departures. If they had used total number of passengers I wonder if the order might have changed. Sent from my iPad using Forums

tallyho8 Posted May 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 17, 2017 No, they had more passengers. Since they have mostly 3 and 4 day cruises, in one week a ship with a 3 and a 4 day cruise will have twice as many passengers than a ship with a 7 day cruise. And since Carnival has 4 ships departing from Long Beach their passenger count is very high.
GUT2407 Posted May 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Interesting stats, I'd be interested in seeing them for all lines.
GUT2407 Posted May 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Interesting can't see Australia under destinations. Wonder how much else they got wrong.
spencercoop Posted May 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Interesting can't see Australia under destinations. Wonder how much else they got wrong. Carnival sells their Australia cruises on a different website. https://www.carnival.com.au

There are only 3 ships leaving from Long Beach. The Imagination, Inspiration, and Miracle. When the Miracle leaves Long Beach, the Splendor will replace her. GUT2407 Posted May 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Carnival sells their Australia cruises on a different website. https://www.carnival.com.au I know that. But they also sail from USA to Australia, so why no destination.
spencercoop Posted May 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted May 17, 2017 I know that. But they also sail from USA to Australia, so why no destination. Are you referring to the cruise the Legend makes? Honolulu to Sydney and Sydney to Honolulu? That cruise is sold on the Australian site as well.
LaFrimaire Posted May 17, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Will they ever get rid of those old Fantasy ships? They look so outdated and too many of them.
SadieN Posted May 17, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 17, 2017 There are only 3 ships leaving from Long Beach. The Imagination, Inspiration, and Miracle. When the Miracle leaves Long Beach, the Splendor will replace her. And parking will be horrible. Had to park on the roof when the Miracle is doing its MR cruises. Splendor is much larger than the Miracle. Parking was difficult when the Splendor was here the last time with only one Fantasy class ship in port. *** Princess uses Long Beach on their CA Coastal cruises out of SF.
