"We'll escort you onto the ship."???

Checking in for today's sailing on the Paradise. They looked at my passport, asked us to take a seat, and said they would escort us onto the ship. Any idea what is going on? Three cruisers and I have the most days with 28, so it's not a VIP thing. I'm obviously not upset, just mystified. I've tried asking several staff for more info, and no one is saying anything. Anyone experienced this or know the story?

Is there anything in anyone's luggage that would require a trip to the naughty room? That's the only thing I can think of...

They are very tight lipped. Had the same thing happen to me but only getting off the ship. Called me down to guest services at 7am, said I needed to get off the ship immediately and to follow one of the Carnival reps.

Took us off the ship handed my I.D. to somebody in the terminal, he looked at it, shook his head no and told us we could leave.

Once they called me nobody would say anything. They just saying go with the rep.

No apology, no breakfast, nothing.

I imagine my name matched somebody with a warrant or something but I'll never know.

Mystery solved! On board now, and talked to the Guest Services manager. One of our cabins was on a renovation list, and they thought it wasn't going to be ready for several hours. (Which explains why no one in the terminal wanted to give me more info - they probably thought a meltdown was coming.) Turns out, they changed their minds about the reno anyway. So we were the first passengers on the ship, remained the only ones for ten or fifteen minutes, we've settled the carry ons, and are heading out to start the fun!

Ask Captain Carnival.
He was the first one I went to after the check in desk. :) He was kind enough to seat us in the Captain's Lounge (two of us are in a suite, the third an inside), and arranged for the check in supervisor to come find us there vs us seeking her out once boarding began. Great guy, great service, and greatly appreciated!

The only time we were escorted onto a ship was when I booked one of the two penthouse suites, also known as the Owner's Suites, on the Ecstasy. See link to pictures in my signature below. Glad to hear the mystery is solved. Have a great cruise!
