Upgrading stateroom.

Booked first Princess cruise on website for a balcony cabin. We have since decided to change from balcony to a suite. We are well outside of final payment. We will be transferring the booking to a big box TA. My question is should we upgrade prior to transferring the booking or wait for the TA? Whichever will be most beneficial?

Do it before transferring booking. Better chance of getting the cabin you want.

Agreed. Also less "hassle" to deal with through the TA. Just make the change you want as soon as possible and when it is confirmed then you can transfer.

The big box TA I'm familiar with gives OBC as a function of cruise fare, about 8%. Upgrade, then transfer to get the best OBC. (Not sure if they will adjust the OBC if you upgrade after transferring.)
