It's our first family cruise on the Breakaway. Going to Bermuda. We are beach people. Not interested in the excursions. What's the best beaches? Best way to get there? And what do we need to bring for the best experience? These boards have been a wealth of information. Thank you!

Horseshoe bay has always been my favorite. I have generally taken taxis to get there but I'm sure you can also get a bus. For more detailed info however, you would probably be better off trying the ports boards for bermuda.

Without question, the best beach is Horseshoe Bay Beach. You can get there by public bus ($4.50 fare), mini-bus ($7.00 fare), or taxi (fare about $35) plus tip for up tp 4 passengers. The mini-bus and taxi give you door to door service; the public bus drops you on the bus route which requires walking down the access road.

If you want to do try different beaches you can walk the beach paths that connect these beaches:

Horseshoe Bay Beach , Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay, Jobson's Cove , and Warwick Long Bay. The distance from the first beach (HSB) to the last beach (WLB) is about .6 mile. The only problem with starting at HSB and walking to WLB is that HSB it the only beach with facilities, but it is best to walk the beach path in the other direction.

To get the best experience, be sure to bring a quality suntan lotion.

Horseshoe bay is great. There are share ride minibuses right at the ship. $7 per person each way. They take you right to the beach versus the city bus which drops you at the top of the hill and you have to navigate "heart attack hill" on your own.

Take the mini buses go off the ship. Take a left and around the circle will be the mini busses . We went to Warwick beach and walked the trail to Horseshoe not a long walk and easy to stop at the beaches between to swim and end up at Horseshoe where there is food and showers . Look at Mitsugirlys reviews wealth of information
