Rare pierces Posted June 11, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted June 11, 2017 June Gloom. That's what we natives of Southern California call the annual weather pattern that pushes the low clouds formed by the coastal marine layer inland, causing a heavy morning overcast and cool but humid temperatures. It occurs around June. Hence, the name. Week 23's photo shows the heavy overcast lit by city-glow before sunrise. The street in the original was very yellow, so I threw most of the color away. Also, black & white looks “gloomier”. In case you're a budding photographer and are asking about adjusting white balance, that only works when a light source emits enough of the spectrum and our streetlights lack the blue end. Photography is educational! June Gloom Dave

zackiedawg Posted June 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2017 Was on vacation at Disney World over this weekend, so my shots are a mix from that trip. I was bringing only lightweight and waterproof or protective equipment with me since it was very rainy and very very hot - so my shots were a mix from my water-resistant RX10 camera, and my A6300 mirrorless handheld with just one or two lenses each day. RX10 handheld at Epcot during blue hour - of the Morocco pavilion: Disney Springs shopping and entertainment district on an overcast and stormy day, with the RX10: Cute meercat being fed by park staff, A6300: Night scene from the new Pandora land just opened in Animal Kingdom: ISO12,800 shot with the A6300 of the sleeping monk in the Spaceship Earth ride:
