They move you to the front of the line. As long as you have your paperwork, passport and no liquids you are good to go! You then follow the Haven signs and escorts to the Haven waiting area where they take your edocs, photo and give you your key card and boarding number. You are the first ones on the ship. The butlers escort groups to the ship and onto the elevator up to the Haven around 11:00 (depending upon when the previous cruisers are off of the ship). You are then allowed to drop bags off in your room and begin your cruise!

So crazy! My husbands boss got sick after eating at Le Bistro too! I hope your feeling better.

Wow! When I first saw the meat photo it noticed that it looked a little uncooked in the center. It was the veal. I'm not 100% sure, but it's the only thing my mom and I both had. I don't think it was Noro because I'm still feeling it a bit. Noro, for me, usually comes and goes quickly.

Great Review!!! We are booked in the Haven on BA for a June, 2018 Baltic cruise. We are in an Aft Penthouse. With the Baltic cruise being so port intensive (and long excursions), is it actually worth the Haven? This will be our first Haven cruise. We have a DOS booked in January but the Dawn has no Haven. These will be our first 2 cruises in 20 years. Any advice would be helpful. TIA.

I think have a butler on a port intensive cruise is a must. It's wonderful to have a great breakfast delivered before leaving for the day. If you don't feel like going out after a long day onshore, you can call the butler and have dinner from any restaurant delivered and served in suite.

Other food from Le Bistro. Food was ok but not great. I had heard good things but this was not my favorite restaurant. My opinion only.

It's been a few years since we've been on NCL, but we used to love Le Bistro. Maybe all the good reviews were from way back when, but the quality has dropped? I hope you feel all better soon!!

It could have been a fluke or new chef - who knows. All other meals on board were excellent! I will book with NCL again but probably on a smaller ship. Thanks, I'm finally feeling back to 100%!

Totally on board with liking the Gem/Pearl class over the Breakaway/+, but we booked the Escape to Bermuda next year for the timing and itinerary. We booked the Haven again, which is the only way we would do the larger ships.

Totally agree. We have done DOS on the Gem and Breakaway. Both were great, but i prefer the GEM. The DOS on Breakaway is in the very front of the ship, which was a little rough for my sister and daughter who felt a little sick on sea days. We r booked in GV on the Gem next June. Not crazy about the Florida/Bahamas itinerary, but its the GV!! Who cares where we go lol

Awesome! Thank you.

Oh a quick question. I heard after you board they bring you to the Haven area and they give you sliders. True? I'm asking because then we don't have to worry about lunch and just start exploring the ship.

Reread my thread and saw this. They do serve sliders, fries and drinks when you first board. I did not eat those because I wanted to have my first meal in the Haven. They will feed you as many sliders and fries as you want, so enjoy!!

The seats in the theatre are the MOST uncomfortable EVER!! The metal seat has a raised ridge in the back that really hurts. Slouch or you will be in severe pain. Those of us with back problems will suffer!! Ugh!

We were on the Getaway last September and the seats in their theater had the same problem. We are going on the Escape in September, and I hope they have rectified this problem. I don't even have a back problem and the theater seats bothered me. So I can't even imagine what it must have been like for people with back pain. I've really enjoyed reading your live review.

Ok so the padding on the seat is thin so you feel the metal bar at the back of the Lower part of the seat. BAD!!! Fix it NCL- please!!

Spot on! It was so bad that when we were leaving the show we bumped into our cruise director and proceeded to tell him, quote "We loved the show, but the seats........". He finished our sentence for us and lamented how uncomfortable the seats are with that hard bar that you can feel through the seat 'cushion'. He told us he was going to report it for consideration in the next dry dock. I hope he really does.

Me too! Thanks for following up. I'm sure they hear it every cruise. Hope you enjoyed your cruise otherwise.

Sadly, I can confirm that Stefano is no longer aboard the Breakaway. I saw him on our Feb cruise and he said his contract was up in April and that he was going to travel for a while. We just signed up for the 9/10 Bermuda cruise and I sent him an email to see what he was up to. He is currently traveling around and visiting family. He has not intention of returning to the cruise business and is very happy. Sigh, I'm now 0 for 2 for September! No Stefano and no Ramona.

I will go in with an open mind! I was upset for my Feb cruise that Ramona was no longer onboard, but Peter was fantastic. And not matter what I still be in Bermuda! Ha!

Was Peter your Butler? He was ours and did a great job!!

He was! I agree, he was a very good butler. Always a smile on his face and always a "Good morning" or "Good afternoon."

Hoping we can at least say hello to him in Sept (we're on the starboard side this time). He really went above and beyond for us in February. I have a bad back and I pushed it too hard on our Port Canaveral day. Needed to cancel our dinner reservations, but he would not have it! Brought the menus to us and set up the dinner on our deck. Turned out to be the most memorable night of the week.
