first time cruising Posted June 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2017 We finish our 30 night South American cruise in San Pedro and fly back to Australia at midnight the same day from LAX. Although Princes do not mention a transfer with sight seeing to the airport was wondering if anyone can help with information if sometimes this is offered. Thanks
JF - retired RRT Posted June 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2017 Yes, I've seen it offered. Can't help with specifics, because San Pedro is our home port so we just hop in the car and drive home;p BTW: midnight is a terrible time. Even if you catch a transfer, you'll spend many hours sitting in the airport. Check with local hotels to see if you can get a room for a "day pass" to be able to be comfortable till check in. molly2kit Posted June 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2017 I took it in February this year. It went to Long Beach and dropped us off for a few hours, sorry I can't remember how long. The luggage stayed on the bus, we were dropped near the Aquarium, there is a free hop on hop off bus that I took and visited the Queen Mary. There is tons of shopping, coffee and restaurants right across from where they drop you. The bus returned after a few hours and took us to the airport. I think my plane left around 5:30 so midnight is a long wait. I was flying to Canada so an international flight and I was at the airport with lots of spare time Sent from my iPad using Forums
Kamloops50 Posted June 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2017 Yes they have a couple of tours. You actually don't see them till you get on board. Not on the website.

Astro Flyer Posted June 11, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Thanks for your replies. I think the hotel for the day sound like a good idea. You might try searching for information on the West Coast Departures forum where as I recall there has been information about independent tours around LA ending at LAX. If you cannot find any information you may get answers by starting a new thread. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=413 We sailed the same itinerary a couple of years ago with Aussie friends who had a midnight flight back to SYD. We gave them a tour around LA before taking them to LAX that evening. We joined some of their independent tours around SA and touring LA with them was a way to thank them.
