supernanny Posted July 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2017 We will be a group of 8 adults and a 2 yr old, just wondering if there is anything they can participate in with the 2 yr old as far as shore excursions, or should we just wander on our own? easyboy Posted July 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2017 You may also post this at Family Cruises Forum under Special Interest Cruising in case some may have experiences with kids of similar age at the port. bookbabe Posted July 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2017 It's really a tough question without knowing the child. For example, we've taken outgoing, animal-loving 2yo risk-takers out to Stingray City and they've loved it. However, we've also seen kids (of all ages) there, screaming and trying to climb up mom or dad to escape from the scary things in the water. :-) What does your child like to do? Brave or timid? Animal-lover? Water Baby? Outdoorsy or prefers the indoors? The only thing I can suggest without more info is for you to read some of the threads here, read some trip reviews other places online, then decide if that's something your child would like to do. cb at sea Posted July 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2017 Beaches are very easy to DIY . The GC bus system works well. Cheap..$2.50pp and they run regularly. Shopping is walkable. Have them google Grand Cayman, and figure out what interests them! I'm sure all 8 of you don't want to do the same thing...especially if you are limited by the 2 year old. Thanks for the reply. We were actually considering the stingray/turtle swim but weren't sure if they would actually allow an almost 3 yr old in the water with the stingrays? She is very outdoorsy and loves water, the beach, and the aquarium! We're also concerned about transportation and needing a car seat or booster for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :D
bookbabe Posted January 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2018 I've seen toddlers at Stingray City quite frequently, but I'd confirm age requirements with the tour operator, and let them know what size life jacket to bring if you don't have your own. The transportation there will likely be a mini-bus, so as with public transit like your city bus at home, you wouldn't necessarily need a car seat or booster, I'd think.
