How many cabins in haven?

Random question: How many Haven cabins are there on the Epic? I told my dh, who prefers smaller ships, that if he hangs out in the Haven it'll FEEL like he's on a smaller ship, but he thinks there's thousands of others in the area.

Tell him to simply look at the deck plans. Easy.

I know I did that on the Escape and the cabin count was 96 cabins I believe. Assume an average of 3 people per cabin and you are talking about 300 people. Now also remember people do different things at different times. Some are up early some stay out late. Some may spend time in casinos others at slides. The Haven area is huge As such you are lucky to see 50 people in you view at any one time. Me personally, I saw maybe 20 people by the pool or in the Haven restaurant as the norm on our cruise last month.

I did a quick scan and counted 76 Haven cabins on the Epic. It seems close and supposedly there are less than the ships built after. After the Epic, they increased the number of Haven cabins and decreased most of the Haven areas, unfortunately.

If I was going to recommend an NCL ship for someone who didn't want crowds, it would be the Epic Haven. The lounge and restaurant areas are HUGE; never saw either area 1/2 full. The pool area is large (compared to other ships' Haven areas) and the Haven sun deck area (Posh) has a dedicated bar.

I'm not keen on crowds and I liked it 10x better than a smaller ship (Pearl) Unless DH is interested in entertainment, he never has to leave the area (except for the muster drill).

I would book it with confidence and never look back. It has my favorite spa area, too, if that's his thing.

Did a B2B on the Epic in April....and although the second half (West Med) was port intensive......we also never saw more than 20 people in the haven...."maybe" 25-30 at dinner? Never a wait....or not being able to get a lounger by the Haven pool.....I would not think of doing anything BUT the Haven as we have done around 8 trips on various ships in the Haven....and there is such a difference!

Go with the Haven! You TOO will be unable to go back!

We're actually booked in the Haven for later this summer. Been in suites before but never the Haven. I am definitely looking forward to it!

I've been in Haven on Breakaway , don't know how many suites there are, but pool area, lounge, bar and restaurant were never crowded. If I saw 20 people between pool and lounges that was a lot.

Depends on the cruise. We were in the Haven in March and there weren't too many people in the pool area. In May, there were days when we couldn't get loungers because it was packed

I agree....should have been more specific in my response....the Epic this past April was the one that I was referring to when I said that there was never a wait or a crowd...and we were always able to find tables in the Haven Restaurant and by the small Haven Pool.

The Breakaway and the Escape however (past B2b in the Caribbean) were a different story! Again, the Epic itinerary lends itself to more people being off on tours and sightseeing.....so for this reason, I stated that the Epic Haven NEVER seemed to be crowded.....sorry if I was not clear.

Unfortunately just hanging out in the haven area does not make the ship feel like a smaller ship. It just isolates you in a confined area.

Haven is what got me to come over and give NCL a try. I love the whole "ship within a ship" idea on a large modern ship. So you have access to all the awesome stuff a big ship has to offer, but the quietness and uncrowded experience in the haven. Depends on your mood and you can enjoy a vibrant lively experience or serenity. It's a total win. We had considered one of the luxury lines like Seabourn, but I know I'd be bored out of my mind on those little ships.

Also consider what you define as "smaller ships" - because the passenger/gross ton ratio on the smaller ships often exceeds the larger ones.... meaning, they are actually more crowded even with less people on board.

The Havens area on the Epic is great (probably the best i the fleet). Mostly because the put a lot more space in there than on the -away class ships. And definitely more space than the Jewel class ships. That being said, there is not closing roof, so in bad weather, you'll be swimming in the rain.

I agree. I certainly didn't mean we'd lock ourselves in the Haven area and never leave. I was more talking about the pool area and an occasional meal.
