Dover Lodging

I need lodging for a one night stay in Dover. Any suggestions on where we can stay prior to our sailing?

If you can get to Canterbury - a couple of stops on the train or a 15 minute taxi ride you'll find much better places to stay and a beautiful city too.

 

Dover is a right dump - there is no way id stay there! I work there and in Canterbury so would always pick Canterbury.

There is a Premier Inn, a Travelodge and plenty of independent hotels in Canterbury.

We like Premier Inns. They are basic, clean, and reasonable and usually have a restaurant connected. There is one close to the port in Dover. I'm guessing you are staying one night to start a cruise. While Canterbury is certainly a beautiful option, Dover is very handy for a Dover cruise and Dover Castle. We have stayed in Canterbury but for our next cruise we're booked in Dover.

A few years ago we stayed at the Best Western Dover Marina and were pleased. Very helpful staff. We are planning a cruise out of Dover in 2018 and plan to stay there.
