POA Questions...

Recommended Posts

I can't find how to start a thread on the POA board....

I called NCL to ask a few questions....if you are inclined to do so, don't waste your time:o. Bless their hearts...they don't seem to have their act together....and BTW don't go by the excursion hours and times they give you online...those aren't correct.

Anyway...so does anyone know what time they serve breakfast. We are in a suite so what is the earliest time we can get breakfast. NCL told me 7 AM...but surely there is someplace where we can eat earlier. (BtW the NCL guy asked if we were in a Haven Suite....my first time on POA but there aren't Haven suites right?)

Tender tickets...NCL guy said they will call us...don't worry about when or where to get them, they will just call us. HUH? Well...sorry, I'd like to know a wee bit more info on that! Again we are in a suite, so how does that work for us?

Thanks....anyone who has the answers to one or more of these questions should apply for a job at NCL. Well...actually even if you don't know any of the answers you should apply....cause I know you'd quickly find out the answers cause everyone on cruise critic boards are good at fact finding!!!

Suite guests on the POA can eat a sit down breakfast at Cagney's. I can't remember what time it opened, but it was always early enough for us. We also had a standing order for tea and juice to be delivered to our suite every morning before breakfast. There's a coffee maker in the suites, along with tea bags, but our butler told us the tea would taste like coffee, so she had some delivered every morning.

There are no Haven suites on the POA.

If you are doing an NCL excursion, you meet wherever your excursion ticket shows, and you will be escorted to the tender with your group. If you do not have an NCL excursion, the concierge will escort you to the tender.

Aloha Buffet opens at 6:00am.

We just got off last week, don't miss the "Dancing with the Stars (crew) or the "Newlywed Game"...awesome and funny.

Not trying to be a buzzkill but we thought all the food (MDR, Specialty, MDR) was mediocre at best. The ship is nice, the itinerary is great but still scratching our heads on the quality of the food.

We ate many meals off the ship at port.

Have fun. Aloha.

Do you have a personal cruise consultant with NCL? Mine is great with getting me answers quickly, I just send an email and I get an answer super quick

We always have coffee and fresh fruit delivered to our cabin as our wake up call on excursions days, and if we end up having time we hit the buffet before we go. Any cruise this has worked out great including the POA

Have fun, this was one of our favorites and this cruise is all about the Islands!

I hear you about the customer service - was on the phone with them last week and nothing but waste of time.

Anyways, I'd have to check the Dailies for when Cagneys opens for you. You can get room service breakfast but on POA you can't get Cagney's delivered for breakfast or lunch like the other ships. 6 a.m. sounds like what we had for buffet opening with full buffet at 6:30 - but let me double check later today.

For tendering, the concierge will advise you where to meet - for us it was in the bar right next to Cagneys and he'd walk us down to the tenders via back routes.

We found food to be good overall and very much like any other NCL ship.

To update from earlier - From the Dailies I had, continental breakfast in buffet from 5:30-6:30 a.m. with full buffet at 6:30. Cagneys for suite guests started at 6:30. You also would have option of Cadillac Diner as that is open 24 hours.
