Lanyards with a Pouch vs Punching a Hole in the Cruise Card

I normally find a nice Princess cruises wallet in my cabin that fits my cruise card perfectly. I put my cruise card in that and keep it in my pocket. It is far simpler and more convenient for me personally to do this. If you have breast pockets on your shirt like you find on most men's shirts then that is the most convenient pocket for men. I am sure women have alternate places they like to keep things.

Totally agree with you. I hate to see people walking around on holiday with a lanyard round their neck. I know sometimes people have to wear them at work, but on holiday, I don't think so. Just my personal opinion.

Many people will agree with you on this one. It can also be funny and amusing to people to see the "lanyard brigade". Would you go shopping with your wallet and car keys around your neck! they are the sorts of jokes and laughs people get out of the subject.

haha actually yes I do wear my keys on a lanyard around my neck grocery shopping... I hate purses! :evilsmile:

I get the card punched then put a keyring (just the ring, not the key fob) thru the hole. It makes it easier to clip to a lanyard, or I can slip a long sparkly necklace through it.

 

Do you only use the card as a door key and not purchase anything? Doesn't the extra key ring get in the way when swiping cards for purchasing? Just curious.

Don't be a lanyard hater!

 

I refuse to wear mine at work because I am in a very profession environment and doesn't go well with suits and dresses.

 

Vacation however is another matter and tossing my key around my neck is a sure sign I'm on one! Now when I am dressed for formal evening, DH is carrying his card in his pocket; if I need to go to the room he can fetch what I need or fork his over!

We punched ours and put it on one of those stretchy key rings & wore it on our wrists. We chose bright colors to easily identify whose was whose and find it when we laid them down. I had lanyards and never used them.

I use a lanyard and loop it through a belt loop on my pants and the card goes in my pocket. Easy to get out when going into the room and not too hard to use when making a purchase in the shops, not going to lose it, and it's not hanging around my neck.

In the past, I've been a lanyard user. I have "all" of my cards on a ring when I return since they have that nice useful hole (why? don't ask me).

 

Modifications? I get a bungy cord from the casino, cut it down to about 8 inches and reattach the end with the ring (you will need pliers to do this). Then I clip it to my "purse/wallet". This way, I am sure not to leave it in the slots after I left them enough coins.

 

I now have a nifty lanyard with a small card pouch. This way I can carry my coffee card with me. Eager to try it out on my next cruise.

What amuses me is the people who have their driver license in a pouch on a lanyard.

I always punch my card and have no issues with it.

 

My daughter was a teacher and had gotten this silver lanyard from Brighton to wear her ID (required) throughout the school day. I admired it so much that this is what I purchased to our cruises. I don't carry and purse while cruising and some of the clothes don't have pockets so this is perfect for me.

 

I also bought a whole punch that punches a slit since this is what this needs.

That's so pretty!! Thanks for sharing the link! They used to sell Brighton on the ships, not sure if they I any more. But I'm gonna see if I can get this before hand anyways :D
