Suite Guests - Not Haven - Embarkation

Is there a dedicated check-in area for Non-Haven Suite Guests (NHSG - I'm creating a new acronym!)? It's my first time on NCL (although fourth cruise in the last 10 months) so I'm trying to get prepared!

Thanks!

I have never heard of Suite guests being separated for embarkation.

There seems to be a growing number of questions on here lately about the difference between Haven and non Haven suites, with an assumption that non Haven suites lack some of these perks. Basically there are few, if any, differences other than the Haven access itself.

Suites and classes of suites above Haven Garden etc. have a separate check in facility or are bumped in

front of the Platinum check- in lines and then directed to a lounge with modest refreshments to await your

butler escort on board. Your butler will take you up the gangway passing the waiting folks and have your

key card scanned and then either to your stateroom if cleaned set up and available or to a private lunch

at Cagney's Moderno or other designated restaurant until your stateroom is ready - You can also just go

to the Buffet or MDR.

Often the Platinum category and CAS (Casinos at Sea) have separate check-in areas if not specifically

directed where to go look for that area and then a bit beyond where the suites are checked-in.

But it would be unlike NCL to not escort you to your check-in area and afterward directed to the waiting lounge.

Don't be afraid to get the attention of the uniformed NCL Rep and get help !

Any cabin category beginning with "S" or "H" is a proper suite and enjoys the dedicated Haven/suite check in area. If you're on a ship (Jewel class ships) that features non-Haven suites, just follow any sign or directive that says "Haven" for the purposes of checking in. Don't say "non-Haven suite" to the port staffers. Just always ask for "Haven check in" and repeat as necessary.

We just sailed in an aft penthouse on the Gem. Upon arrival I asked where suite passengers go and they directed us right into the Haven area and escorted us onto the ship. They didn't really seem to differentiate between non-haven suite and haven suite. At ports they called us haven and flagged us for priority. As the previous poster said, we just stopped correcting them. I guess the color of the key cards is the same for both.

Did you get to have drinks and sandwiches at the pier?

We normally look at the snacks and ignore them. You are being escorted into the ship (more or less) directly to the Suites restaurant for lunch. Don't want to fill up on leftover breakfast pastries when real food awaits.

I am guessing this refers to something, but not sure. Maybe you can clarify?

As Suite is a Suite, regardless if it is inside the Haven or not.

Some ships do not have Haven but Suites throughout the ship.

Cabin category has designation codes......Inside are IA, IB etc. Outside are OB, OC, OF etc. Balconies are B like B1,B2, BB, BC, BC etc. Mini Suites start with M.

Those categories with H like H1, H2, H3 and H4 etc are Haven Suites.

Suites like 2 Bedroom Penthouse, Penthouse, Penthouse with Large Balcony etc. have an S in front SC,SE or SF.

What kind of perks do SF passengers on the gem get ? I know the VIP embarking and disembarking. What about breakfast, are you allowed in Cagneys or something like that ? What is your butler able to bring you beside your room service menu ? Are they able to get you anything from Osheehans? I was told that they have a log of how much they are used and a lot are underused. Just trying to maximize my experience as my wife and one year old will be in an sf suite

Some (not all) perks:

Breakfast AND lunch at Cagney's. Sparkling wine & water in your suite (1bottle each). Fancy coffee/esspresso machine. Special reserved seating in theater. Snacks delivered each afternoon (cheese plates, fruit, finger sandwiches, candies, desert samplers). Concierge service (booking meals or shows). Special toiletries.

The butler can bring food from all/most (?) dining venues. Not sure whether they've added a fee for this.
