RDC1 Posted July 22, 2017 #51 Share Posted July 22, 2017 But it is within the Princess rules........................... thought that is what was being discussed not a moral standpoint of what is justifiable. Since your are raising the question of moral vs rules. What exactly is not moral about Princesses current policy of only allowing passengers to book or upgrade using currently available offers? Since you are raising the question is would seem that you feel that Princesses policy is not moral.

Never saw the word moral in any cruise ship contract.

Griller Posted July 22, 2017 #54 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Let's not go off topic. If you want to discuss tipping, start another thread. Not really sure its totally off topic - passenger could have rebooked to get room he wanted but without included gratuity, and then just removed the gratuity, end result being financially the same for him as getting included gratuities. And the word gratuity was in the first post.
KristyMisty14 Posted July 22, 2017 #55 Share Posted July 22, 2017 :mad: I wonder in cases like this how many passengers would rebook into the higher grade and then simply remove the gratuities once on board? It is after all totally within the rules, just as Princess being inflexible is within the rules.Unfortunate for the crew of course who would never know why it happened. Thumbs down to this post and to even throwing that idea out into the universe:mad::mad:.
DrivesLikeMario Posted July 22, 2017 #56 Share Posted July 22, 2017 The OP should simply cancel and rebook the category he and his wife really want. Maybe they can even get a better promo like the Sip + Sail? Just be aware of any cancellation fees.
RDC1 Posted July 22, 2017 #57 Share Posted July 22, 2017 The OP should simply cancel and rebook the category he and his wife really want. Maybe they can even get a better promo like the Sip + Sail? Just be aware of any cancellation fees. That is exactly what they would have been doing. The problem is that when they tried Princess did not have an offer with free gratuities, like they original booked under, to rebook into. thus the problem.
