Anytime Dining Window Seat

Hello!

 

If you have anytime dining, can you still ask to sit by a window? Or is this dining room not by the windows? And also, how much longer of a wait do you think it would be?

Depends on how the tables are configured whether a two top is near the window.

The wait depends on many factors-your fellow pax, time arrived, formal night, port night etc.

We always go when they first open and they sit us by the window - just ask for a window view. My teen wants to get dinner over with so she can go do her thing the rest of the night!

Yes. Just ask the hostess when you check-in at the ATD dining room. You can request whether you'd like to be seated with others or not, and also ask for seating near the window. A lot of the tables right next to the windows are larger tables, so to get the closest, you may have to sit with others. But there are also tables for 2 close-by. Wait time will likely depend on the time you arrive.

And, you can also ask for the same waitstaff. But of course, that limits where you can sit.

We had the same waiter for 14 days, although we ate at the Steakhouse twice and Chef's Table once, so make it 11 days

Were you seated by a window each night you ate in the MDR?

Most of the time there is nothing to see so not sure why a window seat at dinner is important? Of course you can ask to sit by a window. You can ask to sit wherever you like . We always find one serving crew that we like and stay in that area the whole cruise. On some ships it becomes "our table" even though it is ATD!

We were in the middle but it was dark by the time we ate. We eat around 8:30 - 9. We never waited one minute. Once they knew we wanted the same waiter, the host did not ask again, just walked us to our table. Dinner never took more than 45 minutes as the DR was 1/2 full. We did tell him when we ate at the Steakhouse and Chef's Table. As to ocean view, if you are queasy and the ship is rocking, the ocean view will not help

Unless you only want to eat dinner in the MDR, you'll probably have better luck getting a table by a window in the buffet area. Of course, if it's after sunset, you won't be able to see much of anything in either the MDR or the buffet. For something a little more romantic, if you have a balcony cabin, take some food from the buffet and have an al fresco dinner with your significant other on your balcony. Set a battery operated tea light on the table on your balcony to add to the mood. After dinner, cuddle up close and watch the submarine races.:)

We do al fresco breakfast! The sunrise is beautiful!
