Always check with your MD first.

At the Univ. of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago where I worked for 24 yrs. this was common practice there and elsewhere AFAIK.

 

Foods are the best bet I think, like oranges, bananas and dates for example that are high in K+ which is potassium but again check with MD.

Check with the Cardiologist. It really hinges on what other medicines he is on including over the counter supplements.

 

This actually made mine worse.

 

His doctor will know what his particular situation is. Some advise you get from people who have been there done that or work in the field will be good advise for you husband and other may be bad advise.

 

We can tell you what worked for us but you should always check with and follow his particular doctors advise.
