Favorite time of day & what do you do?

Ahh.. As winter starts to set in and our next cruise is so far away, we sit and remember past adventures and favorite moments. Was wondering what my fellow cruisers consider their favorite time of day while on the cruise and where they like to be, what they are doing, etc.

Ours used to be after late dinner seating, taking a walk around the outside decks in the less crowded areas of the ship. Looking at the waves and the late evening sky. As we have gotten older, now we are mostly just sleepy after dinner.

We like the evenings before dinner from about 6-8 PM. It is a good time of day to go up to the Crown and watch the sun go down. We also like to walk the Royal Promenade on formal nights to see the fancy attire and soak up the atmosphere.

How about it..

Early risers checking out the sunrise?

Port enthusiasts heading off the ship?

Pool party buffs keeping the pool area hopping?

Sun worshipers enjoying the mid day rays?

Evening people (like us)?

Entertainment aficionados?

Late niters?

Well since I am an early riser the sunrise is where it's at for me. 5 years ago we were on an Alaskan cruise and I can still close my eyes and remember the sun coming up over the mountains and turing the sky purple. It was unbelievable.

I love everything but my very favorite thing is sitting on the balcony either very early, for sunrise, or late in the afternoon just as the sun is setting.

And my 2nd favorite thing is sitting on the balcony just before the ship is due to leave port, to watch the last minute passengers racing to make it back to the ship in time :D

It is a tie....

Getting ready for dinner, walking in and taking that first peak at the dinner menu. I really try not to peak during the day.

On our last cruise, I really enjoyed getting up early (having an inside cabin DID NOT help me sleep in), and watching the sun come up with my cup of coffee.

My favorite part is standing on deck as we sail away from an island. I think it is the adventurer in me that loves the new places we have been. Also, it is like being in a movie - Me and my love standing at the rail watching the island fade into the sunset.:) :)

I like getting up early and going to the Windjammer and having breakfast outside at the back of the ship. We did this even in Alaska since we were blessed with perfect weather, even in September. The Windjammer is so peaceful at 7 am! Then we'd do our Walk a Mile and if I went back to the Windjammer for juice around 9 am it would be PACKED!!!!!

Looking forward to getting to do this in just a couple of weeks. I wonder what it will look like in Cozumel as people are racing to catch the tenders?

For me, it would be watching us leave port from the front of the ship at the helicopter pad. My favorite was when we left one of the Alaskan ports (can't remember which one). The water was incredibly still, whales were surfacing nearby, and I saw a bald eagle swoop down, grab a fish, and carry it off to the shore for dinner...

Walking the top deck after dinner and shows when it's really quiet. More so when the ship is moving than when it is in port. I love to watch hear the waves go by.

2nd would be early morning sunrise. My favorite was watching it come up right over Atlantis. (Sunset in Key West is really nice too)

My favorite is walking into the dining room for dinner and looking at the menu... lol - I love the food!

Love having breakfast on the pool deck early when no one is around...

I also love to go to the Windjammer at lunch and grab a plate to go, then sit by the pool in the sun and enjoy it.

Oh - having a drink while listening to the piano player in the scooner bar before dinner is awesome to.

Getting up early in the morning before sunrise - sitting outside on the balcony(with a cup of coffee) and watching the world wake up - it is beautiful ... a wonderful start for each amazing day.

also .... late at night ... gentle rocking of the ship ... drapes open and watching the evening lightening show .... listening to the waves.... soothing end to each day.

I love getting up early and working out on the treadmill in the fitness center (before daybreak) then going to the whirlpool with a cup of joe and watching the sunrise. :) I also love laying out by the pool, dinner in the dining room, formal nights, schooner bar with Derik Lewis (Rhapsody of the Seas) champagne bar with Gilbert and Girlie Girl, the casino, the windjammer for breakfast. I guess I just love the entire cruise...:D

I don't eat lunch on board (still too full from breakfast and want to save room for dinner!) so I love to go up the Solarium around 1:00 pm - grab a comfy lounge chair - open a window (it's a change from the balcony beause even though you can open a few windows, you are still behind a lot of glass - the perfect combo), read a novel, nap, read, watch the waves, nap....
