Cpbryant Posted August 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I fly into port and to avoid an extra bag, I'm packing the suit I'm bringing for Elegant night with my main luggage. I know it'll get wrinkled in my suitcase, so I'll need it pressed when I'm on board. Elegant night is the second day. How do I go about getting my suit pressed so that I'll have it to wear on the second night? Thanks.
countrygirlcruiser1234 Posted August 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2017 They have a laundry room you can go and iron your suit.
firemanbobswife Posted August 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2017 You can use one of the irons in the self service laundry or send it out. There will be a form to fill out. Give it to your room steward along with your suit. I suggest you do it day of embarkation.
riffatsea Posted August 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I might pack the pants but I'd wear the jacket onto the plane and then just take if off during the flight. The pants should be OK and UNwrinkled if folded carefully when packed.
S.S.Oceanlover Posted August 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I'd leave the suit home unless you are taking it to get photos taken. Suits are no longer needed for any dinners on CCL. Bill
crusinpsychRN Posted August 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Wrap your suit in a dry cleaner bag which will help prevent wrinkles.
Rare crewsweeper Posted August 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Pack like described in this link. http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-pack-a-suit-2013-10/#how-to-fold-and-pack-a-suit-jacket-step-1-place-your-hands-in-the-shoulders-of-your-jacket-with-the-jacket-facing-you-1 And then bring Downy Wrinkle Release in the travel size bottle. When you unpack, Lightly spray the Downy on the larger creases, most likely the sleeves, and let hang in the cabin for a bit before placing it in the closet. Any decent quality wool suit is going to shake out the wrinkles. Any artificial material suit may or may not get completely shaken out. Depends on how deep the creases are. You'll be fine, even if there are a few smaller wrinkles around. DO NOT IRON THE SUIT!!!

Bill This, I have not brought a suit, jacket, or tie for several years.
OldSaltyCruiser Posted August 2, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2017 The amount of men wearing suits/tuxes has reduced greatly over the years. If you do decide to bring a suit along, I wouldn't try ironing it yourself with an iron in the self service laundry. It's too easy to ruin the fabric. I'd either send it via your room steward to the ship laundry for pressing (I think it's $8 for suit jacket and pants) or place it on a hanger suspended on the cord in the shower, turn on a hot shower and allow it to steam the wrinkles out for a couple of minutes.
