Helicopter transfers in Monaco

I have only done the transfer from a hotel but the fare includes pickup of you and luggage that you will have with you on the quayside and transfer to heliport. Access to the quayside by cars is restricted so check with Heli Air who should be able to advise on best way to proceed. We only travel with one medium suitcase each and not sure what problem there may be if you have a lot of luggage.

Given the cost of SS transfers you will not pay much more for the helicopter rather than a coach!

Not sure about ALL of them but the one's I'm aware of are fairly strict about a single piece of luggage at 25kg max ..... and a small bit of hand luggage.

I did it by train in June. If cost comes into it, I think the transfer from the airport was approx 6E and train fair approx 4E Train takes about 40 minutes and frequent and you get off the train (via escalators) to very close to the port.

Its not a scenic as a helicopter though which goes without saying!

I did toy with doing it this way as my previous time in Monaco, it was our intention to do a scenic ride. Decided not to in the end purely because of the weight allowances. My hand luggage with my camera gear weight as much as my suit case! lol

Thanks everyone - appreciated the advice, as I am keen to get the airport as quickly as possible, to allow for any delays going through security, which are all over the media at the moment.

If you are lucky to be on the port side of the plane, and if the flight path is to the east, you will have a fabulous view of Nice, Villefranche, Eze and Monte Carlo included in the price of your plane ticket!

Nice airport changes the direction of landing a few times a day. The municipal insists the noise of landing planes is shared fairly and equally between all residents.

So if you sit on the prom on one of those blue seats or benches you are treated to the disarming view of aircraft approaching the runway just after the last plane has taking off towards the incoming flight.

The OP was clearly not seeking to save cash on the transfers, so the helicopter transfer is really an experience. However, if your case (and only one case) is over 25kgms and it is strictly enforced then your case goes by road at additional cost. This defeats the OPs objective.

Many Monaco packages include transfers by helicopter within the price. BA at this very moment and only for a few days have a Business Class return ticket and a three day stay at the best of Monaco with the transfers (November) for nutty prices ie less than £400 starting prices.

The cheapest way for those interested from Nice Airport to Monaco is to take the local bus from the airport to the gare routiers in Nice which is at the top of town and get onto the #100 coach. It is really comfortable and the ride takes the coast road, it is long, but as long as you catch the #100 within an hour or so of the first bus then the whole journey from memory is one ticket 1 or 2 or maybe one and a half euros. Such is socialism. The bus stops near the port. There is also a direct express bus (#110) but that costs a lot more - I think it's 20 or 22 euros - because it is a way of milking tourists. It takes around 30 minutes if there are no roadworks which is rare.
