camper49 Posted August 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2017 We are before final payment. Not new to cruising but this is our first ncl. At the time of booking it was only $20 more pp to book a mini suite..so I did. If I could now downgrade to a balcony we would save $100 pp as the balconys have dropped in price. The mini suites have gone up $200 pp. Is there a huge difference in balcony and mini suite cabins?
jpcdds6 Posted August 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2017 What ship? Considering the price for a mini suite is now more than you paid, I would stay where you are.
Tiggertastic Posted August 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2017 Depends on the ship, be aware that if you go to downgrade it is a cancel cruise and new booking so whatever perks you may have got first time you will have to take what is on offer now Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare BostonGal35 Posted August 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2017 stick with the minisuite. its got a bigger bathroom that you will appreciate. Otherwise, cabins are near identical.

lulu22715 Posted August 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2017 We had a mini suite on the Gem. Slightly roomier, bathroom and on deck 11 which gave a larger overhang on the balcony to protect from rain. But that's about it. I'd look at the location of the other room. What's above or below it. Maybe they're left because they aren't desirable locations. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Only true of the -away class ships. On smaller ships, the mini Room is bigger.
