Cruiser31963 Posted August 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Setting sail to Alaska from Seattle, WA next May and looking for hotel suggestions near the cruise port. We will be flying in from Maryland the day before the cruise.
sunbird21 Posted August 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Most downtown hotels are pretty pricy- I stayed at Embassy Suite by the airport, it was about $130 a night. It is a 40 minute ride on light rail to downtown but worth it for the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ColinIllinois Posted August 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Welcome to the forum. For lots of information about Seattle hotels you will want to check out the West Coast Departures forum. roger001 Posted August 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2017 We stayed at the Mediterranean Inn. It's not right downtown and not quite as expensive, although like all Seattle hotels, still pretty pricey. We took a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and a shuttle the hotel arraigned the next morning to the pier. You can walk to the Space Needle and monorail downtown from there. Rare BostonGal35 Posted August 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2017 we are marriott people so we are staying at the waterfront marriott on alaskan way. its my understanding that the port is directly across the street and you can walk.
garycarla Posted August 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Downtown is much better than the airport. Being able to walk outside and take in the downtown options is priceless. If you can get a hotel with access to light rail.. not too bad. FYI - it is a pretty good hike from the terminal to the train/rail at the airport. livingawarriorlife Posted August 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We stayed at the SeaTac Fairfield Inn since we are Marriott people. We wanted to be near the airport so that was the cheapest choice for Marriott. Plus all of them downtown seemed pretty expensive. You can take the light rail from the Fairfield for I think $2.50 one way/person but we chose to hire a town car thru the hotel (I think it was $30 each way if you reserve ahead of time). That was way easier than the light rail. Otherwise we would've been lugging our suitcases.

morrisretired Posted August 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We stayed at Crowne Plaza in downtown Seattle. It is a short walk (down hill) to the Pike Market Place. We got up the next morning and you could see the NCL Jewel from our hotel room. Breakfast was included with the room. The hotel had a free shuttle to the ship. Really enjoyed our short stay there. Would recommend checking this hotel out. Alaska is amazing mother nature at her finest! Safe sailing We (and extended family) also stayed at the Warwick - for three nights pre cruise. We had never stayed here before - yet having mentioned to them in correspondence we were travelling for our 20th wedding anniversary - there was a bottle of bubbly and hand made choccies in our room on arrival along with a lovely card. They made us feel so special - exceptional service considering we were first time guests! Can also recommend their restaurant - Food was very good - and super friendly service. Managed to get a good deal here via the booking website - I think quite a few CCers have frequented The Warwick :)
