Another Reminder Of Not Flying In The Day Of The Cruise

This item comes up from time to time including this very board when people are asking whether they will make the ship if they fly in the day of the cruise.

From the time we began to cruise we always would fly in one or more days before the start of the cruise and that started when I was working. Back then even with a decent number of vacation days it was hard to take more then a week or maybe six business days off. Often we would wrap it around a holiday.

This involved a missed flight to Florida on the day of the cruise.

Also remember even if there were alternative flights they can be full or all flights could be cancelled or delayed for a number of reasons from weather to airport, airline, FAA computer glitches or security issues.
