Cruise week before christmas

We have booked the Equinox cruise the week leading upto Christmas eve, have we made a mistake, we have only cruised celebrity, in europe.

Reading threads on here, I'm wondering if this cruise is likely to be a party, booze cruise with a younger croud of friends together in groups. I hope not. Do they normally cruise with RCI?

It's been a few years but we took a cruise right before Christmas week because our high school age daughters' school schedule worked out. It was very much a family cruise, I don't remember a big party crowd - and this was on Royal Caribbean, not Celebrity.

For that week either Celebrity or Holland America would be your best choice due the the typical age levels of their clientele and their choice and style of activities. You may well see more families with children than you would on other weeks, but C and HA are definitely not an attraction for single college students!

We usually cruise around the 12th or so for 10 nights. Not a booze cruise at all, actually the opposite. This last one on the Eclipse was about as "mature" (age wise) as we've ever been on. Not a thing wrong with it, just an observation.

Since we go for basically relaxation so it suited us fine. It might be pretty laid back, just a heads up.

With the exception of shorter cruises during college spring break. Been there; done that. Never again. Booked Celebrity but sailed on the Animal House cruise.

Hope party style drinkers will be in the minority that week...with the advent of the drink packages and perks, Celeb does get a certain share of partiers but hopefully nothing to spoil your cruise...

Airfare and hotel rates may be high pre holiday..and flights more crowded so if you need res, book early. Equinox..great ship!

We are booked on that cruise, as well, with our family of four. We usually cruise Christmas week, but FINALLY our kids are not on the high school schedule and we can go earlier, when fares are way less. The Christmas week cruises were packed, but with exception of the Martini bar, nothing was crowded at night. We've never been overwhelmed by the drinking crowd on Celebrity, so anticipate a great time!
