Ruby to Platinum on Princess

On my next cruise will go to next level....Platinum. In addition to perks listed on their website, does this mean I will get additional discounts on published fares?

 

I need to book two more cruises and am wondering if I should wait a month.

Also if you book cruises while Ruby and you turn Platinum you might need to call Princess to change your status on the cruise to Platinum. The cruise record does not seem to update with your customer record.
