chengkp75 Posted September 12, 2017 #53 Share Posted September 12, 2017 Cruisemapper shows Conquest, Splendor and Harmony berthed. It's open for business. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Hopefully the bunkering supply and infrastructure (tugs and barges) are all up. Not sure what loads the first few tankers in will be carrying, my guess is gasoline and jet. We are currently on the way there with 12 million gallons of jet. BallFour4 Posted September 13, 2017 #56 Share Posted September 13, 2017 When Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, I believe it took the Port of Galveston some 5 or 6 weeks to repair and start sailing again. For those weeks when the Port of Galveston was in repair, sailings used the Houston Bayport Terminal. It is a nice terminal, that is something that could be used in an emergency for some cruises.......just a thought. It took 11 days. As others have posted it's been converted for other commercial use now. That build it and they will come mentality failed for a Bayport. No long term contracts were ever signed. .
