If you wish to give extra tips to your room attendant or butler you can also do that using OBC by filling in a form at guest relations. They prefer you to complete this 2 days before the end of the cruise so it can be processed.

Absolutely it can be used for gratuities. Depending on the length of our cruise and the accommodation type we choose either prepaid gratuities or the OBC whichever is greater. Several times we have seen the daily gratuity rates go up and have called our TA and changed from OBC to the prepaid gratuities. The only thing you can't use it for is booking a future cruise or gambling.

Your OBC can be used for anything except taking money out in the casino and for a booking deposit while booking on board. Booking on board deposit has to be charged directly to a credit card.

Can you explain what you mean by taking money out in the casino? Can you play the slots with your OBC?

You can no longer take your OBC out in cash from the Casino Cashier. You either get promo chips to play table games or credit on your seapass card for slot credit. Only your winnings can be cashed in.

I see you can play with it but just not go to cashier and get cash to play.

Choice between OBC and prepaid tips is easy. Just figure out the amount your tips are per day, based on your cabin type, and multiply by the nights. If that amount is more than $150 per person, then go with prepaid tips (i.e. longer cruise usually) if under $150 then go with the OBC of $150 per person
