I calculated it as 4.5x our normal drive. If I'm wrong about the percentage, then this whole thing is RUINED. And I had such high hopes... :(

Not ruined at all. It was 4.5x your normal drive, which is 350% more. Think of it like an investment -- if you buy at $100 and sell at $450, the sell price is 4.5x the buy price but the amount of money you make is $350.

Enjoy the cruise and thanks for the great reviews. :)

My way made us sound like it was a more of hardship.

POA you have me looking at NCL Escape now, and it’s only day 1! You made it sound great so far.

I feel your pain on the extended drive. We live in Houston so it’s only a 90 minute drive to Galveston, but this summer we drove to Port Canaveral, which is well, a lot x 90 minutes.

GBR!!! Now I'm a huge Nebraska but I think you chose wisely to miss this game. Sad to say but I'll be happy if we don't lose by more than 20... Kinda sad cause they are celebrating our last National Championship team too from way back in 97, way too long to have been our last. [emoji26] You'll find a surprisingly amount of Husker stuff at the Western Caribbean ports and if you make the same mistake I did by wearing my Nebraska hat they will holla at you (Hey Husker, Hey Nebraska, etc...) to get you to come buy something, my hat was official Adidas one and they knew it and were trying to get me to trade my hat for something they were selling... LOL

The Caribbean is very US team oriented. We were in Nicaguara(?) in 2000, and they wanted to buy my husband's UCONN hat.

Dinner tonight is in Cagney’s. After that, we will have to decide where we want to go exploring because tomorrow is a sea day. That means we don't have a hard stop because we need to be up early for an*excursion*in port. (Because we are utterly*responsible*people and we'd be in bed by 10:00 PM if we had an early day tomorrow.*)

When we were having our planning meeting in Conference Room A**, we negotiated some ground rules for our “Live From” thread.

1. – #NoSelfies. We won’t post any selfies. We’re just not into taking pictures of ourselves.* To make up for our lack of selfies, AlexandNessa came up with a plan. We will try to get some other people to take selfies for us to post. That way we'll have selfies for our thread, but they won’t be ours. Or, if you are on this cruise and happen to see this thread, feel free to take a photo of yourself and post it with the label #SelfieStuntDouble. We're not normally Meet & Greet** people, but maybe that would be a good place to recruit selfie stunt doubles. *

2. – No Food Porn. Half the time I forget to get my camera out before we start eating, and with a group of five, photographing each course would slow meals down too much. Also, AlexandNessa and DBIL said that they "will absolutely veto any food pix." So, unless there’s something really spectacular, we won’t be sharing food photos. However, if DW and I are on our own, we may take the occasional surreptitious food photo. Don't rat us out. I'm not sure what the penalty is. We didn't cover that in our meeting.

3. – Yes to Drink Porn. We’re not sure why, but photos of drinks seem to be okay. It could have something to do with our desire to document our successes. Or to remember what we had. Or to*reconstruct*the scene of the crime.

4.*– Your questions: Ask away! - If you have any questions, please ask. Just do so with the understanding that we don't mind making things up.* We will probably not have a lot to offer in terms of Children's Programs or the main cast stage shows in the Escape Theater.*

*

5.*– In terms of shows, 80% (4 out of 5) of us are going to see "After Midnight," a different 4 out of 5 of us (80%) are going to see "For The Record: The Brat Pack," two of us (40%) are going to* try "Escape the Big Top," and 4 out of 5 dentists recommend Trident for their patients who chew gum.* I also think that we're going to see Howl at the Moon and a comedy show or two.

*- I jest.

** - Conference Room A is the first high top table on the left as you enter the District Brew House.

*** - I realize that you guys call them "Meet & Mingle," but I like rhyming more than alliteration.

Here's a speed test run through Google's test server. Please note that I did not install the NCL accelerator app. This is just a straight connection. Test run from our room on my Android phone. I'll try it later on my computer. All in all, the speed seems fine for my needs. I'm not planning to stream video or anything. I'm just using the connection for work.

And this. (It's work, right?)

In other geek related news, iMessage runs fine over the intranet without need for an Internet package. We set it up and tested it between my wife's iPhone and her brother's. I think we got his Apple watch to work via Bluetooth. All phones are in airplane mode only. DBIL's phone is in airplane mode with Bluetooth enabled.

I found Maker's Mark. It's a mere $18.00. I was all kinds of happy until I realized it's $10.05 more than it was on my last cruise. I wonder why it's so magical here?

The offending employee has been sentenced to mandatory Canada appreciation training. He will be force fed Saskatoon berry pie until he can properly pronounce "about."

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused to our friends north of the 49th Parallel.

Proper pronunciation would be 'aboot' as in Das Boot but without the Das:)

At Cagney's. Signature cocktail is the Negroni. Sauvignon Blanc for the starters. Cabernet Sauvignon for our steaks.

For those of you new to our work, the table with most glassware wins.
