Is the food quality and crowding as bad as everyone says? I am sailing November 5 and getting nervous.

I love MSC food, this was my 3rd MSC cruise and it was as nice as I remembered.

I had lunch every day on market place buffet (except on embarkation day) and the rotisserie station was to die for. And the pizza, yum!

Buffet was full but if you walk all the way to the aft (buffet covers the entire length if the ship) there are plenty of space and a lovely view of the water tail.

I didn’t feel it was crowded at all. The most people I saw together was on Galeria Meraviglia during theme parties.

Have a great cruise!

Really enjoying your review Priscila, thank you :)

I've only done 2 MSC cruises, but have fallen in love with YC

I travel alone too, so appreciate what you mean! Once they've got the idea though, the butlers are just amazing :D

Thanks! [emoji8]

I'm loving the details of your review!

I will be in your very same room 3 weeks from now. Did you have a problem with it being between 2 crew doors?

Cabin was great!

Only problem with noise was in the afternoons when crew was moving luggage to/from staterooms. I sleep heavy as a rock so I didn’t hear any noise from them collecting luggages for desembarkation late evening.

Have fun on your cruise!

DAY 1 - Genua (1/10/17)

Happy birthday to me!

This was my birthday and I woke up bright and early as I had an excursion in Genua to join.

Weather forecast was rain so I booked an excursion consisting of a bus tour through the city center and a visit to palazzo del príncipe, which was a historical palace a short walk from port.

I started my day with a nice French toast breakfast

Feeling fortified, i went to meet my fellow excursion guests at 9:05 to be escorted outside.

The tour started with the palace but we were not allowed to take pictures inside

The palace was beautiful and we spent a good 1,5h there.

We then went to the bus to see the city center. We had a stop in the main square for some free time before returning to port.

This pictures were taken from inside the bus, so forgive me if there is a reflection

Coincidentally, there was a food market next to the ferry terminal, so I got myself a portion of fried calamari and a glass of wine.

We then took the ferry back to the ship where I had to run like a crazy person to make it on time to my 2 PM hot stone massage, lol

The SPa was wonderful and I spent a lot of time there every day. Access to the thermal area was included in the YC fare and I made the most of it.

I had some back pain from carrying my back pack so the thermal pools were just what I needed.

The shower ‘pathway’ where you waled through 4 different temperature, scented water jets was also really nice and refreshing.

I didn’t take Spa pictures because there’s already plenty out there and the space was really steamy and humid, meaning unsafe for my phone!

I also took advantage of the ‘port day promotion’. If you booked a treatment to be had between 8h and 15h on port days you get 30% off.

I was then getting hungry, so I went to the market place buffet for some pizza

It was as good as I remembered!

I then spent some quality time in my cabin, where I had a coffee from the convenient coffee machine accompanied by one of the mini bar peanut covered with chocolate, yum.

After a nap,I got ready for the dinner+show combo.

Dinner was pretty good,I had sushi as an appetiser

And Tiramisu

Everything was hot and delicious and I was glad it took a bit less then 1,5 this time around.

Before the show, I went quickly to my cabin to brush my teeth but my buttler was inside cleaning and blocked the door and asked if I could come back later. Weird.

Anyway, I went to the theatre to watcha show about friendship between men and dogs, but I don’t remember the name

It was cute and I wasn’t tired yet so I went to check out the ‘Thriller’ party on Galeria Meraviglia.

Omg, it was a riot! I even managed to get a selfie with Pennywise!

It was such a nice gesture, I really enjoyed it and had a festive cabin for the remainder of the cruise, lol

And the macaroons were delicious!

DAY 2 - Naples

I had no interest in doing long excursions in this trip, so I made this an additional sea day.

I went in for an early breakfast and managed to enjoy a lovely ‘sail-in’ from the restaurant.

Breakfast was thankfully always a much quicker affair then dinner, so I was in and out within 40 min.

I don’t mind a relaxed meal, but when you are aline 2h waiting at a table feels like an eternity. That’s why I stopped having lunch on the YC restaurant. I started to get the impression that I was spending all my time there, so lunch started to be in the buffet or the one pool grill.

Anyway, breakfast was yummy and I discovered that the biggest coffee in offer was a latte machiatto
