Cancruizer Posted October 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2017 Hi All, I am hoping that someone may have had experience with this and can give me some insight. We are considering a family and friends cruise on the Crown Princess New Years sailing. We have some kids with our group. 3 of the kids will be between 8-12, so in the same kids club grouping, however 1 is 7. The parents are really concerned that he will not want go to the younger group (age 3-7) and then this will affect the other 3 kids who won`t want to go either. All in all they will not be happy. Does anyone know if Princess is loose on their age restrictions for the groups? I recall years ago my son was 12.5 and had an older sibling and the counselors were willing to have him join the older group, although he opted to stay with his age group. Thanks for your insight and experiences!

Rare ceilidh1 Posted October 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2017 They are very strict about the age groups. They do not allow younger children to move up to the next age group. I second this - the ONLY time they will combine age groups is if there are very few children onboard. For a New Year's cruise this would not be very likely and you would need to adhere to the correct group for the children's ages!
Zozizar Posted October 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2017 I agree, our last cruise had 8 children on the whole ship (so 1 big group) but the previous one, they were more stringent because they had more children. You can always try.

cb at sea Posted October 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2017 They probably are in different classes in school, too... Just make sure the kids go to "orientation"...that's when the kids start to "bond"...everyone is a stranger but they make friends! They are more likely to let the older kids move down, than letting the younger move up. I'm sure the 7 year old will have a blast!
