How is the casino for regular cruisers during an ULTRA cruise?

Good Morning,

 

We have a cruise booked on the Carnival Glory for Nov 4,2017. I noticed on these boards that recently there were offers sent from the casino to players that this would be an ULTRA cruise for them. My husband likes to spend some time playing blackjack in the evenings. How does this affect the casino for other cruisers that are not participating in the ULTRA cruise?? :confused:

Casino will be very, very busy! Besides special events (hot seat, tournaments, etc.) held for ultra guests.

Think of it in a positive way: fewer opportunities to donate to the casino:)

Other than areas only occasionally being blocked off for special Ultra Tournaments and a little buffet area on the side for Ultra players, it won't seem much different. They usually limit the casino offers to about 300 per cruise, so not really more crowded.

 

I've gone on several and I don't feel that the slots are any loser or anything else. The private parties are usually held during a time when the casino isn't open or in a lounge.

Premier, Ultra, and Elite cruises are by invitation casino cruises. Casino sponsors special events for invited guests.

 

To answer OP question: I find the casino much more crowded. You have some very dedicated gambler on the Ultra cruises. I always feel like I need a vacation to rest up after an Ultra. The scheduled events are meant to keep you in the casino.

Thanks for your responses. I generally just play slots, so i'm sure it wont be too difficult to get on one of those every now and then. It was mainly my husband who plays blackjack that I was concerned about. With 4 ports back to back, he might only make it in the casino 2 or 3 times anyway, so I could be worrying for nothing.

We cruised on what turned out to be a major slot tournaments with many high rollers nvited to participate.

If your play usually attracts the attention of the hosts with extra comps, you will have to significantly increase your play during a Premiere or Ultra Casino cruise.

We were on a Premier last month and it was so crowded you could not get a seat at many table games, video poker or the hot slots. I already had an Ultra booked for this December but if it is just as crowded it will be our last casino specialty cruise due to the fact they keep increasing the number of invited players.
