Right now the Summit is free and they are giving you $250 for airfare...lol

This is a casino rate, correct? How much do you have to spend in the casino? We have an OV on a 7 night on Summit from San Juan that is about $1,000 per person with taxes, port fees, gratuities, drinks and OBC. Besides the price our hotel just canceled yesterday. Our agent called Celebrity and they won’t do anything because it is after final payment. No idea where we will stay.

For those concerned with airfares... South West has a sale on right now that equals the deals on the cruises.

Not to mention Celebrity added a Silhouette 9 day cruise on December 8 for $458 inside/$749 balcony!

Haven't seen you guys for a couple of years!!! I've only done one on Celebrity lately with most on Royal. My 13 night transatlantic in two weeks was only $531pp with $200 OBC... for an ocean view!

I would also add... Thou shall, ""NOT book through the cruise line"" !!!! :') :loudcry:

For the unbelievable deals try looking at on line agencies instead of directly through the cruise line.

What should we be paying on the 11/25 Summit?

But you have to go to the Caribbean...not a fan anymore, but yes, those prices are super cheap.

I have the Edge book at the cheapest price when the TA opened...I must like new and spending more...

We did the same and also booked an Edge suite first day. The more I think about it though I think about cancelling because whilst I'm sure the ship will be great the itinerary is really boring.

So much for the Edge Miami Marketing Monkeys claiming 'Big ship amenities, small ship itineraries; eh?

So... are you advocating everyone only wait until 2-6 weeks to book? And then just get what's left over, assuming it somehow suits them, their employer, family, and flight prices are great?

Cause while that works for some, in some circumstances, there's a lot of other considerations - and if you book a reasonable time out as many need to then you don't get prices like that.

For the last 9 years, we just plan to cruise around thanksgiving or the two weeks after. Without fail, we find really good prices 6-2 weeks prior to sailing. The prices tend to keep falling until around 4 weeks out depending on the cruise line. NCL for example has a policy to not drop prices further 4 weeks prior to sailing, but you never know.

We will often use points to hold cheap flights on Southwest and cancel if we don't need them since there are no penalties. I would rather go more often than spend a lot of money. I can't wait for retirement when we can book a few days in advance for really last minute deals.

I know you cant mentionspecific travel agents, but could you give me a hint where you found these fares. I cant seem to find anything even close.

Thanks

I hear that...we have an S1 for Dec. 16 that I might cancel. As for the April 28 cruise, all those ports are new for me except Southampton, and I am considering getting off the port before in France and training to Switzerland...

Also looking at the return TA when they come out soon...I never have three cruises booked at once, let alone considering another. My DH just looks at me and says...I love you anyway, even though you are a little crazy at times...it took him many years to finally come to this point!

I wish we could get close to double those prices in the UK. Just priced up 14 nts on Silhouette in the Med for Sept 2019 and a balcony is over £2700pp, and this is supposedly a discounted launch fare.

Now I know Sterling has depreciated since we kicked the EU into touch, but last year we paid £1700pp for 14 nts to the Baltic on Eclipse, now that's greedy and extortionate.

Hope you read the fine print which says prices available AFTER FINAL PAYMENT DATE. This is usually 74 days before the ship sails. We have been offered a 7 night cruise to Alaska for $99 but it was 24 hours before the ship sailed! Terry

Celebrity Silhouette 14 night med cruise departing 8th September 2019 prices :-

Largest US Cruise travel agent = balcony from £2827 - No perks. Not including taxes and port charges.

Celebrity UK direct = £2719 - No perks. Including taxes and port charges.

Check my US vs UK thread that I wrote today. On some cruises you can beat US prices here in the UK. And if you're ready to travel within 6 weeks you can go aqua or concierge class for less than £50 per person per night with classic drinks package.

I wish I knew where to find these :(

When searching, I like to find best price cruises but sometimes I like to go on cruises n more. For these deals I found it was important to put in your past guest number to get the best price cruises. One thing I found that the promos are different on various sites, but I like getting the most OBC and finding the best price cruises. There is an agent there that knows how to enter the request for the Amex Platinum cruise benefits so that's on top of the best price cruises deal I am able to find.

Interesting. I had a look at the first one to see how my findings compare. I can find an inside for $549 with $100 OBC. If you're 55 and over this improves to $469 and $150 OBC. But the same outfit has balconies from $499 with $200 OBC for the over 55's. Is that how you're pricing the balcony room?

I’m seeing $549 with free tips and $75 OBC for a 2D category. The $399 price was for X category with tips and small amount of OBC. Maybe they zeroed the X inventory. X were available earlier today when I looked.

The 9 day one shows up at $399 for a balcony until you go to book it then it turns into $549, which is still a good price. The thing is, none of these prices include taxes, fees, gratuities or any other perk. Another thing, last minute air fare is a killer. Last minute air to Florida, for us, would be over $250 per person, more than we normally pay.

Last minute air to Florida for us would often be $500-$600 or more. If I can get $250 per person anytime I would love it. But that said, the point is valid. If you live in Florida or within driving distance yes, you can often get great last minute prices. If you don't, you are subject to the increasingly costly prices most people are stuck paying. With no disrespect to the OP, the post itself is irritating. It diminishes the real issues people are having with prices on Celebrity skyrocketing over the past few years. First world problems, granted. But many of us do not find this funny.

Celebrity seems to offer alot of 'teaser fares'. . They are real but depending on the category inventory there may be only 1 or 2 cabins at the lower price and then the prices rise accordingly. Also it's best to look at what the all-in total cost is for the perks you may want plus of course taxes/gratuities.

You'll find that the cost of the perks (1 - 4) varies dramatically from free to insane based in the date you paid for the cabin.

If you don't want a drink package or other perks some great deals...but if you want any of the usual comforts you may like the cost usually ends up close to what the best price has been for a cruise.

This is definitely the case, but is fine with the OP who has posted many times that they generally take the cheapest inside without any perks but gets stock OBC.

Not everyone wants to go that route.

What should we be paying on the 11/25 Summit?

Look in the post quoted below. Prices for your cruise are $339pp inside/ $389pp OV/ $439pp balcony. (w/ $125/$150/$175 OBC)

I'm not seeing them on celebrity's website either. I'm seeing them on my go to online TA's site (they consistently offer discounts on celebrity). Let me put it this way... if you want togo' on 'vacations' you should look them up. [emoji6]

If people want to book directly through the cruise line and pay inflated and ridiculously high prices that include all those "PT Barnum Perks," Celebrity will gladly take your money. Just coincidentally, my RCI stock has quadrupled since I bought it. That just CAN'T be a "cause and effect relationship" can it? I have also received over $3,000 in shareholder OBC, but they ARE getting more and more stingy about awarding it these days.

In the last five years, I almost never booked a cruise unless it was UNDER 50pp/night for an inside cabin. (and I got MANY cruises for $30pp and $40pp per night) I made "Elite" on Celebrity with only five cruises totaling 74 nights for a TOTAL base fare of under $3,200. (base fares are what are ADVERTISED, so it only makes sense to use those numbers to avoid confusion) That also made me Diamond on Royal and now I am almost always able to get Ocean View cabins for under 50pp/night. The Diamond Lounge on Royal is even BETTER than the Elite Lounge on Celebrity.

Everyone has their own priorities when it comes to cruising... from Reflection Suite to an inside GTY... from booking onboard at the Future Cruise Office to using online agencies. I just find it humorously entertaining when some people complain about First World problems.

To be fair though TeeCee if insides were all that were available you'd find a lot of people would never set foot on a cruise ship.

A TA or TP with an inside really is my idea of holiday hell. Celebrity would have to pay me thousands to endure such a trip whilst using my vacation time. I don't want to feel claustrophobic and I do like my own space and can't face too many sea days, so add that all together and you'll get where I'm coming from. Hopefully...

Hi, our agent was able to move us after final payment at no additional cost from an outside to AQU on deck 11 as requested while keeping all perks including the $300 OBC (more than covers gratuities) drinks package and additional OBC (total over $400) including book on board, agency and their consortium (originally in a group rate).

We are happy because we wanted AQU originally for BLU. When I called Celebrity and looked on line the 2B was what they recommended and told me to call my agent to make the change, but I asked agent to try for AQU, so better than what is currently on line (as of yesterday).btw, the AQU was apparently $30 more per person than what we paid as they asked if we would pay it but than got Celebrity to just move us.

These could continue to go down but we are in the cabin and deck we wanted at what we were willing to pay for an OV.

The only downside is that the hotel (Sheraton) we booked using points and on club level canceled us and new hotel is costing us $$.

I enjoy your posts even though I don’t wish to travel in an inside and you did encourage me to look into updated pricing, so thank you.
