Nonrefundable deposits also for Canadians?

I just wanted to check and see if anyone knew if the new rule about nonrefundable deposits will also apply to Canadians. In the past this has been illegal because of our laws and I didn't know if we are able to continue to make refundable deposits or if they've found a way to skirt the law.

I've understood this to be a certain promotional price under which you can book ... and there is other pricing available that doesn't have a non-refundable deposit. I can't say for sure but others have reported this.

Right, but would that mean Canadians aren't allowed to book that rate, or that they have to make it refundable to Canadians?

HAL & Princess both have nonrefundable deposit promos that apply to Canadians.

Really? How do they get away with that under the rules that anything we pay for can't expire or be nonrefundable? They had to specifically allow Canadian onboard bookings to be refundable when that change came out, I recall.

Maybe it's transferrable? I honestly hadn't heard this.
