Port Stop At Oman

For anyone who has recently had a cruise stop at Oman: what was the process like at Muscat for obtaining your day visa at the port.

 

Did celebrity take care of it quickly, did you have to do it yourself ; how much time did it take?

 

We have a day long independent tour that starts early and would hate to be stalled at the port because of a visa process.

You should not have any issues with a long wait.

 

Just be sure that the guide will be there waiting for you.

 

Muscat is a beautiful city. Be sure they take you to their Grand Mosque.

The ship obtains a group visa for passengers and you are handed a special card upon disembarking; keep ahold of this card and you turn it back in as you reboard. How long the authorities take to "clear" the ship once it docks is always questionable. Last time I was there, it did not take too long.

We did a B2B in march with 2 stops on Oman. The ship took care of the Visa's and there was no real delay. If I recall correctly we were taking a tour and to meet our guide at the main gate. There is a free shuttle from the ship to the port entrance. The shuttle bus stops at a Immigration building about 500 feet from the ship. You walk in one door get a card stamped and then out the other door and back on the bus.
