luckyprincess Posted November 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) Hi all! So my bestie and I always do a land all inclusive vacation for our yearly girls trip. She has finally agreed to try a cruise. I think she is the perfect cruiser so I know she will enjoy. I have not been on either Enchantment or Empress. They go for 4 nights to Key West and the Bahamas out of Miami in February. All things equal, which would my fellow cruisers pick? Also feel free to give me your opinions or tips on either! I think I read that Enchantment was going to be refurbished in December but unsure if that's true. papaflamingo Posted November 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2017 I would do Enchantment as the cabins are bigger. It's a larger class ship and actually is one of my favorite. Empress Cabins are significantly smaller. For example, Empress interiors are around 120 sq. ft., and Enchantment interior are around 150 sq. ft. Other cabin classes are similar in size difference. Rare lazydayz Posted November 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2017 For small ships, you can’t beat Enchantment. Since its expansion, it has most of the upgrades. Empress is just old and small.
theredwoodguy Posted November 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2017 We have been on both. Empress is a nice intimate ship but absolutely go on Enchantment! It is one of my favorite smaller ships!!
jcl410 Posted November 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2017 I'm taking the Empress in Feb to Key West and Costa Maya. We picked it because it matched the date we could leave. I also booked a Jr. Suite to get a bigger room. If Enchantment was an option, I would have booked that. I really like the Vision class; lot's of glass every where, and as the previous poster said, the cabins are larger. Aloha, John
luckyprincess Posted November 9, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Thanks everyone! We will do enchantment! Can't wait! Has anyone heard anything about refurbishment this year?
OceansOfTravels Posted November 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2017 You will enjoy Enchantment. Larger cabins, more to do, plus the Solarium. I loved the Empress, and I loved Empress's prices even more when I cruised on her, but given the choice between the two, I would go with Enchantment. Enjoy your cruise! OACAggie Posted November 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Enchantment, but I have a soft spot for her...sailed on her for our honeymoon and first ever cruise. :)
Dennis#1 Posted November 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2017 As numerous posters below have stated, the Enchantment is also my recommendation (when the other option is the Empress). We have been on both. Have a great cruise.

Yes, scheduled for Nov 27 to Dec 14.
