Beverage Package question

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

We are sailing with a large group at the end of the month. Our group operator secured beverage packages for those who wished to buy them, but they are NOT the Deluxe Beverage Package. They Include Unlimited House cocktails, some beer, wine under $8 per serving, Non-Alcoholic frozen beverages, and fountain soda. These was no mention of coffee and bottled water was specifically excluded. The bottled water is a huge deal for me and I know that I can buy the water package, but.....

Has any one else had one of these packages with a group? What are House Brand cocktails? Will we be able to enjoy a shot of Jager every once in a while or a Grey Goose Martini or Bacardi and Coke with out having to pay extra for them? Are these even included on the Deluxe Package?

It has been a while since we have sailed RCI and we are very excited to be back. On our last RCI cruise, it was the very first cruise that beverage packages were available through RCI (at least that is what we were told) and there was a learning curve with all the bartenders. Some would include Jager, Bacardi and Grey Goose, some would not.

We usually make out very well with beverages packages knowing that we can get all the water and coffee we want, but with out those items I am not sure it is worth it.

What is your tour operator charging for this not-the-deluxe-beverage-package?

It was $255 pp. The group is over 600 so I am not sure if he was able to get a package because of the numbers or not. It works out to a little less than $32 pp per day. Gratuities were also added to that price. After gratuities it came to about $34.50 pp per day.

We cruised with a group through a TA and the only package (With Alcohol) available was the Deluxe. This was back when Select and Premium were being eliminated. I heard nothing about a new "Basic" package. Sounds like what the Select package was.

Anyway, Everything we ordered was included in the Deluxe. Including Drinks with Grey Goose, Crown Royal.

Oh... 600. Well that is a large group. We were only about 40. Perhaps RCI have Bev Packages customized for large groups at a special price. Maybe others can fill in.

No, it's not what the Select Package was.

The Select Package did not include liquor, just beer and wine. (In the alcohol department)

House cocktails are normally, basic cocktails (gin and tonic, rum and coke, etc), and using the house liquor brands (well bottles), not premium, name brand liquor.

So no Jager, Belvedere, Grey Goose, etc.

But best way to find out, is to ask the TA who arranged the package.

Not sure how (un)helpful this is but.. this sounds like the 'casino' beverage package I had on NCL last year. It was a free cruise a friend won in the casino on a previous cruise, and everyone in our cabin received a drink package with the cruise, but it only included well drinks, soda, etc (and in the casino areas).

We’ll be upgrading the package we got on the Celebrity for October 2018. We don’t do beer or wine, but do enjoy premium liquors and coffee drinks and fresh squeezed juice and bottled water.
