traveling to Bahamas on NCL Sky. Will we have any trouble with no passports?

While it is better to have a passport, there is no problem taking that cruise if you are a US citizen without a passport. A lot of your fellow passengers will do the same thing.

ALERT

Stand by for comments from many folks saying you should have one, or not.

And the follow on discussion about taking it ashore or not.

LOL!

The logic of taking a passport it semi moot if you leave it onboard given the concern arises if you fail to get back onboard by the it departs and you are forced to take a flight back to the US. This would be an issue if said passport is....on the ship.

We always leave ours in the stateroom safe. I'm told if you are left behind that the contents of your safe is brought ashore and left with port officials. I hope I never find out if that's true. :D

Same. I carry a copy of my passport whenever I leave the ship.

On the other hand, there aren’t people living in Nassau who were left behind by a ship and didn’t have a passport. Or are there..... [emoji15]

and if you left it in the safe on board, before they sailed and left you there, they would remove it from the safe and give it to the shore agent to give to you. Nothing to be worried about.
