russgrae Posted November 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Hi, Looking at going on Iao Valley and Maui Tropical Plantation - MA04 with Royal Caribbean when we are in Maui. This is part of our Explorer of the seas Transpacific cruise which departs Sydney 22nd April, 2018 Has anyone been on this tour in Maui.? The countryside looks beautiful but from a bus window with 50 other people, not so good. Do they use big busses and what is the usual tour group size. ? We are having trouble finding small group tours at a lot of the ports we are visiting. Here is a list of the Ports we will visit and would love to hear from cruisers that have found good tours in these Ports. Lifou, Mystery Island, Suva, Lautoka, Honolulu and Maui. Have already Booked a tour in Noumea and a rental car in Honolulu. Looking forward to thoughts and recommendations. Kindest Regards Russell

Silver Sweethearts Posted November 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Your very best bet would be to rent a car for the day. It is an economical and easy way to see what you want when you want - and without being part of a large tour bus group. You can reach both places easily from Lahaina (where your tender will dock). cb at sea Posted November 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2017 I agree with a rental car. Maui is quite easy to drive...and you can do things on your OWN timetable! Io is gorgeous! A guidebook will tell you ALL there is, and then you can decide HOW to do it!
Markanddonna Posted November 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Russell, I posted about this topic in the Hawaii forum. This was one of the few ship excursions I have been on that I liked.
