Which ship out of Galveston? Any Galveston cruisers care to comment?

Hi, We would like to book a cruise out of Galveston in Jan or Feb 2018. We have chosen Carnival most recently but would like to consider Royal.

 

Things we enjoy:

 

The main dining room or affordable specialty dining

Gym including weight room

walking/jogging track

Included sauna and steam room

Live dance music

Wine

 

Cabin and itinerary are not that important since we have been to most of the ports a few times.

 

Any of the frequent Galveston cruisers care to share which ships and itineraries that they enjoy?

We went on Liberty of the Seas last April & loved it! The ship and crew were fabulous.

Liberty would offer the most activities.

I vote for Liberty of the Seas

On Royal's site, you can compare the two ships: Vision is "Vision Class," and Liberty is "Freedom Class." Because of the difference in size (and recent refurbishments), the ships are quite different in what they offer.

liberty nicer ship better shows and music but carnival has more food places and some what better food later at night

We are about to do our second liberty cruise and love the ship. The band's change a lot but they had an awesome Latin band last time we sailed. The gym isn't bad either.

Liberty of Seas, does it have the included sauna and steam room like Carnival? The solarium looks great!

 

What menus does it have in the dining room? Anything to compare to Carnival's brunch?

Yes, sauna and steam room are located inside the locker rooms in the gym on Liberty. A very nice gym I might add.

I highly recommend the Liberty of the Seas! Been on it twice, hopefully going in March 2019!
