molly361 Posted December 16, 2017 #76 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Terminal 6 seems to be a problem and might give cruisers a bad start. We arrived at 12 and Line was outside the terminal. Took 2 hours to board. Worst boarding experience for us but cruise was good. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Yes I have heard several bad stories already concerning terminal 6- Wonder if that is going to be used for the BR from now on? Milwaukee Eight Posted December 16, 2017 #77 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Yes I have heard several bad stories already concerning terminal 6- Wonder if that is going to be used for the BR from now on? What made matters worse is that Carnival was docked in front of us and our departure was delayed by more than a hour because they were delayed. Captain said we had to wait for them to depart. Took 2 hours to board. Worst boarding experience for us but cruise was good.Sent from my iPhone using Forums We were on the Thanksgiving cruise which left from Terminal 3 but was the first time Brilliance returned to terminal 6. Disembarkation was awful, we didn't get out of the terminal until 11:50 AM! The terminal is too small and woefully inadequate for the 2100+ passengers Brilliance carries, as there were only THREE customs lines open. RCL and Port of Tampa need to rectify this problem ASAP! Meanwhile, almost 1500+ passengers are still waiting to board as we were trying to leave! A real mess!!
Catperson Posted December 16, 2017 #79 Share Posted December 16, 2017 We were on the Thanksgiving cruise as well. I feel like I was on a different cruise than others. Our cabin looked like it had just been renovated, all the furniture and carpet looked brand new. Our room attendant was always in the hallway and spoke to us each time we passed by. The ship looked great to me. I enjoyed the food on board with the exception of the MTD - terribly overcooked duck and the shrimp cocktail so small and not cold - gross. However, our requested table for two was on the railing (good) and they had moved the two tops which go three across further away from each other so you don't feel like you are eating at the table beside you. I enjoyed the buffet when we went but wish they would dim the lights a bit so I don't feel like I'm in a school cafeteria. Chops and Giovanni's was good. Music was very good in the Centrum. There was no Marriage game or Quest, so my daughter was disappointed (or did I miss it?). I will agree that getting off the ship was not fun; even with our concierge bringing us down and accessing a "special" line, we waited probably 40 minutes to get through. At one point I was nervous we would miss our plane. All in all I would have no hesitation to cruise the Brilliance again!
eaglesfaninfl Posted December 16, 2017 #80 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Catperson--Agree with most of your comments but didn't have the duck this cruise so I defer to you. The shrimp cocktail has been smaller so I just order two! Did not have the temperature problem you reference, ours were always properly chilled. Also, like the fact that the deuces (2 tops) appear to been spaced farther apart, easier access and more privacy. As I stated above, the Terminal 6 problem was a mess and RCL and Port of Tampa need to quickly find a solution
DMartell65 Posted December 19, 2017 #81 Share Posted December 19, 2017 So we (6 adults) are leaving out of Tampa terminal 6.My info says boarding is from 10:30 to 3:00. Seeing as there seems to be issues at terminal 6 what time do folks suggest getting there? We only live 20+/- minutes away and will be taking an uber down. So we wont have any parking concerns. Justmekaren918 Posted December 20, 2017 #82 Share Posted December 20, 2017 You could be there as early 10:30am they were getting people processed. I am sorry to hear this news about Ms. B. I have had a lot of fun and fond memories, and the bar staff at schooner was awesome, and Chis was a hoot at the panio. A great Journey cover band. I was supposed to be on her in March but bagged it do to my hip recovery is not as far along as I wanted it to be. Had a wild night trying to get back into Tampa. Vision was behind us and we played fog horn tag for hours as 4 ships were making there way to the channel, and you couldn't see anything off the ship. The ship was electric and a good population was up and about. The food seems to be slipping. The beef tenderloin in MDR is good. I know several cabins were showing rust. I could've sworn I had shower tubes in my last 2 of the 3 cabins on her. The furniture seemed okay. It was a great size ship to start my Mom on. Enjoy your trips all. cruise wizard Posted December 20, 2017 #83 Share Posted December 20, 2017 We were on the 12/11 cruise and had a great time. I agree about the terminal 6 being a bit small and the traffic flow in and around the port was congested. We arrived a little before 11 and got through the terminal and on to the ship quickly. Debarkation was a much slower process as the lines were long and stopped many times. We used our hotel shuttle to get to and from the port and it worked very well. Our cabin (aft JS) was just fine and the attendant was very efficient - the crew was very friendly and helpful. Food for the most part was good in the WJ and MDR and service was excellent in the MDR. The CL and DL were pretty crowded (40+ pinnacles and hundreds of D & D+). The ship was all decorated for the holidays and looked festive which added to the fun atmosphere. We had a great time and look forward to our next cruise on Brilliance which will be the April Trans-Atlantic.
hbridges2000 Posted January 19, 2018 #84 Share Posted January 19, 2018 I'm on a couple RCL Facebook groups and there is actually a post concerning Brilliance and they are all saying good things. I don't question the original posters experience but maybe it was just an aberration. What are the FB groups under?
ShutterbugMomTN Posted January 21, 2018 #85 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Do the shower curtains tend to stick to you? Not to be dim, but how do you use the clothes pins or extra curtain to keep it away? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
mooseman52b Posted January 21, 2018 #86 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Do the shower curtains tend to stick to you? Not to be dim, but how do you use the clothes pins or extra curtain to keep it away? We had no issues with the shower curtain in the room sticking to us. Once the shower is on wet the wall and press the curtain to it. The room has exhaust vents which should (and do) keep the curtain snug to the walls. Oh....and make sure the bathroom door is closed.

montgomeryfamily Posted January 21, 2018 #88 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Was there live music in the dining room on any of the nights? There used to be, but it has been a long time since we were on the Brilliance.
WannaCruiseSoon Posted January 22, 2018 #89 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I just got off the Brilliance on Saturday. This particular cruise was a charter so I think things were "weird" because of that. I have to say it was the worst cruise I have ever been on (cruise wise) I still had fun but there were no "activities" and only 2 shows the whole 5 day cruise. I was told it was because it was a charter. The food was bad in the dining room, ended up eating at the buffet 3 out of 5 nights. The ship itself was nice tho. The Charter controls the Activities and entertainment. Often Charters utilize space, areas for private Charter activities. MissBecky13 Posted January 24, 2018 #91 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Did anyone have a good/bad experience with the arcade on the Brilliance recently? I have a 20% offer for arcade credit if I purchase in advance but I thought I recalled a comment where someone said that many of the games were broken and refunds had to be issued for each game individually. Cinders411 Posted January 24, 2018 #92 Share Posted January 24, 2018 We've had several cruises on Brilliance, including a TA, and the service was excellent. I can only guess that there were some serious staffing issues, such as insufficient crewmembers, new crewmembers not well trained, etc. Sorry the experience was poor. I agree. I loved the Brilliance and I hate to hear bad reports of her.

I felt things were a little weird on this cruise as well (congrats by the way!) This was our first RC cruise and while we liked the ship, we thought that it was a little short on the activities too. We did enjoy our dining room experience food wise, but chose to eat at the buffet the rest of the time. What I really found strange was this: I asked the bartender for a menu of the drinks they can make (Carnival has a menu of drinks that they serve) and was told there isn't a menu because "the prices would change daily." I found that very strange, but they made a good chocolate martini so I stuck with that for the week. The casino seemed a little cramped, but I managed to spend money there lol ;)

Haven’t seen this list/menu in other bars, only Schooner. Pub has beer list. Vintages has wine list. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
pinkrosesdeb Posted January 27, 2018 #95 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We had a great time on our 1/11 cruise. The crew for the most part were so much fun! They were not great at fixing a billing issue, talked to 5 different people and it never got fixed, did not take any more time out of our vacation trying. Vacation just needs to be fun and life is too short!

pinkrosesdeb Posted January 28, 2018 #97 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Our problem was no matter how we pulled the shower curtain the water was still able to go under it and all over the floor. Had to put bathmat and another towel at outside edge
