adman72567 Posted December 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2017 We are booked in June 2018 for a cruise on the Eclipse to the British Isles and the French Open. Any suggestions and/or recommendations for excursions, etc. Thanks
bigbenboys Posted December 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2017 We did the British Isles cruise a number of years ago. I spent some time in Manchester, UK. I took the train to Chester. So when I cruised with the family I said let go to Chester. It is a quaint city with a number of Tudor buildings. The Chester Cathedral was built in 1092. The Cathedral was not torn down when Henry VIII formed the Church of England.
upwarduk Posted December 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) Without knowing your itinerary it’s difficult to advise, but I assume you will be docking in Liverpool. We were on a day visit in June 2016 when Silhouette was in port. I heard a lot of positive remarks from cruise ship passengers. We have recently visited out granddaughter who is at University there. The Albert Dock has been renovated. The Beatles tour is one not to miss. The Liver building The Catholic cathedral near the university can be seen from the tour bus. Go to the British Isles boards for more information : https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=233 Edited December 9, 2017 by upwarduk
