Randyk47 Posted December 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2017 looking at an October 2018 sailing Muscat to Singapore ..Are evenings black tie? Royal Suite are the extras worth the cost? Thanks ! There should be three formal nights on that 17-day cruise. Black tie? I guess depending on your definition of formal but you’ll see everything from tuxes to dark suits to people dining in the less formal venues so as to not dress up. No doubt the Royal Suites are wonderful but it’s really an individual decision of worth. We loved our one Silver Suite but we don’t spend much time in our cabin so we name the decision the extra room wasn’t worth it for us.
Rare spinnaker2 Posted December 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2017 We stayed in 701 on the Spirit. A couple of thoughts. It's an amazing space! Loved the size. Loved the bathroom, extra guest bathroom and all that storage space and the vanity area. Fabulous! Would I stay in it again? Nope. At night one must keep window drapes closed so as not to interfere with ships navigation. If you are on a port intensive cruise be prepared for anchor noise, WOW. So loud and right in the bedroom area most of all. Tiny balcony on the side of the ship as the bow is dedicated crew space, which means you may see them through your windows in the bedroom and living areas, just as they will see you. Suites immediately above have wrap around balcony, but they are a higher category. If I had my choice I would stay in a Silver Suite. Perfect for the two of us. Enjoy Silversea, it's grand.
